SUBSCRIPTION: Ipsy Glambag May 2017
It's that time again! As you guys know if you read these posts, I've been seriously considering cancelling my Ipsy subscription for a while, but I just can't seem to quit it. Yesterday, when this bag arrived, someone who had just gotten her first bag ever saw the pink envelope on my desk and was so excited to see what I'd gotten and just generally really excited about Ipsy. It really reminded me of how I felt getting Ipsy in the past - and kind of cemented that I'm going to be done with my subscription sooner than later. Anyway, if there are any subscription services available here in Canada that you might like to see me try, please do let me know!
Anyway, let's get on to what I got this month!
Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash-Off Mask
While I actually really enjoy the sheet masks from Global Beauty Care - which you'll know if you've seen my empties posts pretty much ever - I've never actually tried any of their wash off masks so I'm not mad at this. I'm not entirely excited about it, because I have a bit of a mask overload in my collection at the moment, but I'm not mad at it.
Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
I'm pretty certain that there are a lot of Ipsy members who would be really excited to get this in their bag... unfortunately, I'm just not one of them. Don't get me wrong, I think Gimme Brow is a good product and I'll certainly use it... eventually. I've just personally found that Gimme Brow seems to be the new They're Real as far as there being a bit of a deluxe sample overload. Anyone else feel this way? Still, this is a good sample for Ipsy in general.
Manna Kadar Radiance Split Pan Bronzer & Highlighter
Not gonna lie... I thought that this was eyeshadow and I still think that the "bronzer" shade makes a lot more sense as an eyeshadow. Still, I'm pretty happy about this sample because I think I'll definitely get use out of it on my eyes - and I'm pretty curious to see how I like the highlighter shade when used as it was intended. The shades are great for summer and my first impression of the powders is good!
Royal & Langnickel Precision Angled Brush
I'm sure I've mentioned that I LOVE getting brushes in my Ipsy bag, and this really is no exception. I kind of love this brush, actually. It has a nice long handle and really soft bristles. I actually used this this morning to apply my eyeshadow primer and I think it did a really good job of applying and blending it in quickly. I think this would also work really well for blending out concealer. Very, very happy with this inclusion.
tréStiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Tuscan Wine
I've gotten a couple of other tréStiQue products in Ipsy bags in the past and they've never really wowed me, but in the tube this shade looks so bold and gorgeous that I can't quite be mad at it. I haven't tried this out yet, obviously, but I'm sure that I'll get some use out of it, even if it's just to pat onto my lips as a kind of bitten lip stain. Not mad at it.
Honestly, this is a good bag and a year ago I probably would have been really excited to get it, but at this point it's pretty hard to make me jump up and down for an Ipsy bag. That said, I still think it's a great service and is obviously really, really exciting for people who are just starting to get it. If you want to sign up, head over to the Ipsy website and sign up for the waiting list! It's only $10US (plus $5US shipping for us Canadians) per month for a unique makeup bag filled with 5 deluxe or full sized products!
Thanks for reading!
