REVIEW: Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Body Butter

by - October 27, 2017

I was recently talking to a relative of mine about how dry my skin gets as the weather gets colder and how every shower and bath has to immediately be followed by a good lathering of moisture. Honestly, applying body moisturizer is not my favorite thing in the world, but it's definitely better than living with dry skin, so I do it. Recently, I've had the chance to try out the Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Body Butter*, with hopes that the experience of applying it would be an enjoyable one for me. With winter coming... I'm definitely on the hunt for something rich and hydrating that doesn't feel like a chore to apply.

About:
Indulge your skin and your senses with this luxurious, organic body butter. Made with nourishing shea butter, fair trade organic honey from Mexico and uplifting, sun ripened Italian and Mexican oranges, it leaves skin velvety soft and lifts the spirits. 3% of sales go to charities that help Save The Bees.

The first thing that hit me about this body butter was the scent - I love it! This has a really rich honey scent and I definitely get that little bit of citrus from the orange oil as well, but it's definitely most strongly honey scented. Personally, I love the scent of it and I find it helps to enhance the experience of applying the body butter. Anyone else feel like that? Something about the sensory experience makes it feel less like a chore, so I have to have a body butter that smells good.

More important than the smell, of course, is the texture - and this one is absolutely lovely. It's a very rich cream that you can tell is going to pack a lot of hydration from the first touch. I actually find that I have to be careful not to use too much because a little bit does go a long way. Initially it can feel a little bit oily on the skin, so I personally prefer to use it at night, but I've never felt worried about putting clothes on after I've applied it and I haven't had an issue. After I use this my skin feels absolutely amazing. It's very richly hydrating and leaves my skin feeling smooth and silky for a solid 48 hours after I've applied it. Like I said, it doesn't take much.

Honestly, you guys, I wasn't at all expecting to enjoy this body butter as much as I do. Since I've been testing it out, I've really felt the positive results that it has made in my skin. I mostly use it on my arms and decolletage as well as my feet and I can really see and feel a difference. The places that use it maintain a hydrated, silky feeling for a solid 24-48 hours. I suspect that I'm going to be using this religiously as the weather gets colder and the air gets drier here on the prairies.

The Neals Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Body Butter*  retails for $49CAD and is available online at their website and check out their Stockists page for retailers across Canada as well!
