MANI MONDAY: Holo Watermarble with Floral Stamping

by - March 26, 2018

Like probably everyone, at this point I'm absolutely craving spring - and of course, I had to make my nails reflect that. I decided, since I've just started trying out watermarble and I'm not quite there yet with the skills on it, to do a cool toned holo watermarble and add bold black floral stamping for my take a on nearly-spring floral mani. I'm also collaborating with a Jayne from Cosmetic Proof and Renee from See The World In Pink this week for Mani Monday, since we all independently decided to go floral for our nail art - that spring crave is going around!

For a closer look at this mani and to see what I used to get it, keep reading!

To start off, I applied a base coat of Color Club Cloud Nine so that I would have a light holo base for my watermarble. I decided to go with this rather than a black or white créme polish because I wanted the holo to have a lot of dimension and pop but I didn't want it to be too dark since I was planning on adding the black stamping.

Next, I created my watermarble using Color Club Halo Hues polishes, which I obviously love. I actually really like creating bases using multiple holo shades because I feel like it makes the holo look like it has even more of a rainbow look. The shades I used are Miss Bliss (pink), Eternal Beauty (purple), and Over The Moon (blue) and I really like how the shades play together. I did get some air bubbles in the finish of this watermarble, which I chalk up more to user error than any issue with the polishes, because they really marbled beautifully.

Next, I went in with Bundle Monster Straight Up Black Stamping Polish and the BM-XL07 Stamping Plate to transfer the black floral design over the watermarble. I absolutely love this stamping image because I feel like it gives me really beautiful, crisp flowers that are simple and modern.

Overall, I'm really, really happy with this look and it makes me want to play more with pairing watermarble and stamping together. I really like a multicolor base under a really simple stamping look, so this is right up my alley.

Don't forget to head over to Cosmetic Proof and See The World In Pink to check out their floral nail looks and keep an eye out for more Mani Monday collaborations in the future!
