REVIEW: BeautyBigBang10 Small Floral Stamping Plate

by - August 03, 2018

Hey guys! Recently I've had the chance to try out a few stamping plates from Beauty Big Bang - which I'm super excited about it - and it's inspired me to want to do more posts dedicated to individual stamping plates. Let me know if that's something you might be interested in! I know that when I'm thinking about buying a plate, I tend to check online to see reviews and it can be hard to find them, so I'd love to hear if there are more people interested in that. For now, I wanted to start with a very summery plate that I've actually already used for a few mani's - the Beauty Big Bang 10 Small Floral Stamping Plate*!

Keep reading for my review, swatches, and a mani!

I'm finding that, while I've always preferred XL stamping plates with a lot of images, I've really been enjoying these smaller, square plates recently from various brands. I feel like, if curated well, you can get a good mix of designs in really great sizes that will easily cover most nails. This is particularly true for this plate. I find that they really made the most of the plate size, with narrow spaces between the images.

Like I said, I definitely want good curation in a stamping plate so that I can get the most use out of it. For me, this is definitely a plate that I know will encourage me to use all of the images. I think there's a good variety with each of the designs, ranging from a little bit more fun and playful in the bottom row to more sophisticated with the two rose designs in the top row. I also think this is a floral plate that will transition really well from season to season, since it's not overall too spring/summery. (Yes, I am someone who changes my makeup and nail art with the seasons....)

I have to say, as far as performance, this is a really, really good plate. It's really well etched for crisp designs and really solid pickup and I really haven't had any trouble with any of the designs, regardless of different stampers and stamping polishes. With some designs, I think you can get away with pickup that isn't perfect, but with these florals I felt like it was really important that everything be crisp, clean and solid, and this plate 100% delivered on that for me.

I have to say, it's hard to pick a favorite design in this plate. The daisies and leaves is a really great pattern, whether simply stamped over a base polish or used for reverse stamping. The rose patterns are both really pretty, and sufficiently different from each other, and I think they'll really work for a lot of people. The two more sort of abstract floral patterns on either side of the bottom are really great for reverse stamping, but also really shine simply stamped over a more abstract base. For me, though, it probably has to be the sort of sunflowers with swirling centers image that just... I don't know. It's just so pretty to me!

I really wanted to do a mani with some reverse stamping for this review, so I went with the daisies and leaves print because I feel like it's probably the most straight forward for reverse stamping. I started with a base of a sort of sage green and painted in the flowers with a yellow center and a shimmery white for the leaves. I messed up a little bit on the tranfer - because I'm impatient - but i really love how it turned out.

For my second mani, I obviously had to use my favorite of these six images and I paired it with a really unique and interesting indie polish that has a lavender green shift and flakies in it and I love the way this one turned out as well. It's really simple but impactful to pair these types of floral stamping images with a really interesting base for a mani that looks complicated and intricate but really isn't.

Overall, being that this is the first plate I've tried from Beauty Big Bang, I'm super impressed and can't wait to try more - of which I have another three at home to feature here on the blog. If you're in the market for a really affordable small floral plate, I think you can't go wrong with BeautyBigBang10* because it's a super solid, well made plate with some great designs.
