MANI MONDAY: Scalloped Silver & Grey Glitter Nails

by - August 06, 2018

Hey guys! Since it's a holiday Monday and my family has some pretty important and highly valued traditions for this particular day of the year, I'm going to keep this week's Mani Monday short and sweet... and with our #CBBxManiMonday theme being glitter, it was pretty easy to keep the mani pretty simple as easy as well.

I started this mani with Unt Ready For Takeoff Peel Off Base Coat, because I have exactly zero patience for removing glitter nails and so this product is a must for me with hard to remove polishes. Once that dried, I added two fairly heavy coats of Nails Inc Winter Mews, which is a pretty densely packed silver glitter with small holo and rose gold glitters packed into it. It's actually really, really difficult to pick up in photos, but it's kind of a super stunning polish.

Because I'm kind of extra when it comes to nail art and one colour just never seems to get it done for me, I decided to add this scalloped, sort of mermaid scale looking stamping image from the UR Sugar UR-L001 Stamping Plate using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Grease Lightning. I liked the idea of maintaining a sort of monochrome look for this mani and I liked pairing the bright, glittery silver glitter with this really smoky grey polish.

Sometimes I really think you can get an impactful, beautiful nail art look without having to spend hours on your nails or employ complicated techniques. For me, a bold base polish paired with a simple overall stamping design makes for a perfect mani and I never feel like I have to spend a lot of time putting it together on a busy day or weekend.
