MANI MONDAY: Reverse Stamped Roses & Lattice Nails

by - February 11, 2019

Hey guys! For all of February, me and #CBBxManiMonday girls are sticking with the Pink & Red theme. With the weather having been so absolutely crushing here this past week, I found myself really wishing for spring and I feel like my choice of mani this week really underscores that. Rather than going in the distinctly Valentine's Day direction I was planning, I went with something a lot more spring-like and I'm kind of in love with it. (That said, keep an eye on out Thursday for some Valentine's Day nail art as well!)

For a closer look and to see how I got this look, keep reading!

This mani wasn't really conceived before I started, it just sort of came together as I sat and wracked my brains on what to do while rewatching Veronica Mars. I started with two coats of NAILSINC Holler-Graphic in Ghetto Galactic. Next, I went in with BornPrettyStore White Stamping Polish and my new favorite image from my much loved Harunouta L-010 Stampting Plate. I chose this image because I wanted a simple and straight forward background that sort of gave the look of lattice and I really like how it looks when paired with the roses.

For the roses, I used BornPrettyStore Black Stamping Polish along with the BornPrettyStore BP-L067 Stamping Plate. I love this rose image because it's quite large and you're able to really play with the placement to get a different look on each nail. To fill the image, I used Ceramic Glaze Shell Me About It for the roses and Essence The Gel Polish Write On My Chalkboard for the leaves. I chose these colours because they were vibrant but soft and had a very cool toned, spring-like feel.

When doing reverse stamping, it's important to wait until the stamped images are dry to transfer so that the image stays sharp when it transfers, but not too dry or else you'll end up with cracking and it won't adhere to the nail smoothly. I used a coat of Yellow Stopper Base Coat and waited about 1-2 minutes for it to get tacky before transferring. Once everything was trimmed and cleaned up, I finished the mani with a coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat on all of my nails. Voila!
