VALENTINE'S DAY: Red & Pink Nail Art

by - February 14, 2019

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I probably should have done my Valentine's Day nails for this week's Mani Monday, but... I ended up really, really loving my lattice and roses nail art and decided to save Valentine's nails for today. I have to admit, I'm kind of a sucker for nails themed around special occasions, so there was no way I was going to skip the opportunity to do really, really on-the-nose mani for this particular special occasion.

Keep reading for a closer look!

I knew that I wanted to do a pink base with red and white stamping for this mani, because if I was going to do Valentine's Day nails it was going to be a situation of going hard. I started with Essie Gel Couture in Moments To Mrs from last year's Reem Acra bridal collection. It's a really cool toned pink jelly with really gorgeous flakies in it, which makes it a perfect base for stamping in my opinion.

For the stamping, I used the UR Sugar UR-M01 stamping plate for this look, which was... a little bit tricky but I think I managed to make it work. Using a clear stamper, I started with Born Pretty Store Red Stamping Polish for the bottom layer and then used Born Pretty Store White Stamping Polish for the second layer. I think doing the white on top of the red really popped the images and gave them some oomph.

I finished with a generous coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat and voila!

I've actually gotten several compliments on this mani and I'm super happy with how it turned out. Like I said, it's very on-the-nose, but I feel like sometimes you just really have to go all in.

Whether you're celebrating with a partner or with friends or not celebrating at all, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and that you feel very loved on this day that celebrates that particularly vital emotion!

Thanks for reading!
