MANI MONDAY: Reverse Stamped Purple Floral Nail Art

by - May 20, 2019

Happy Monday, everyone! For all my fellow Canadians, I hope you're having a great May long weekend! This week we're continuing with the Floral theme for #CBBxManiMonday and I wanted to bring a different vibe than the two that I've done so far. My goal for this month is really to do 4 looks that really stand apart from each other because I think floral is such a versatile theme. For this week I really wanted to exist in purple and bring some varying textures to really add some depth to the overall look and I'm really happy with what I've been able to put together!

Keep reading for more!

For this mani, I actually started with the reverse stamping because I really wanted to draw from shades that I used in the stamping as my bases. I chose to go with Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish and this really pretty floral image from my BeautyBigBang10 Stamping Plate.

To fill in the flowers, I wanted to use varying shades of purple (and blue) all in different textures. I started with Pahlish Issun Boshi, which is a very light lilac holographic polish that pulls quite glittery. Next, I went for Great Lakes Lacquer In Brightness, which is a very cool toned purple base with a strong scattered holo and a gorgeous pink flash through it. I also applied this shade to my pinkie finger. I wanted to bring some blue to the table,  so I went with Color Club Crystal Baller, which is an almond blue jeans coloured linear holo, and I also applied this shade as the base for the reverse stamping. Finally, I really wanted a bold creme shade to add some grounding, so I reached for China Glaze That's Shore Bright, which is a stunning neon purple creme. I also applied this shade to my first finger.

Once the filled in flower image was dry to the touch, I applied foil glue to my middle two fingers, let it dry down and turn tacky, and applied the images to the nail. I cleaned up using a metal cuticle tool as well as a clean up brush and then finished all of my nails with a pretty thick coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat - and voila!
