12 NAILS OF CHRISTMAS: Festive Christmas Dotticure
Sometimes it's best to keep it simple when it comes to nail art, and that's definitely what I did for today's #12NailsOfChristmas mani. I think a dotticure is a great way that just about anyone can create and impactful and fun nail art look, even without a bunch of experience or tools. All you need is a few different colours to work together, some dotting tools (or toothpicks and bobby pins), and a little bit of creativity and you can create a really simple, custom nail art look on any nail length or shape.
For this look, I started with two coats of OPI's This Isn't Greenland (one of my all time favorite polishes) as my base because I wanted what basically amounts to a neutral green. Next, I used three different sized dotting tools to just sort of randomly apply dots on OPI's A Kiss On The Chic*, Envy The Adventure, and Many Celebrations To Go! I like to start at the tip of the nail with the larger dots and then get smaller as I move up towards the cuticle.
Once I had gotten the dots the way I wanted them (and after only having to redo one nail that I screwed up) I have them about a half hour to dry so that I wouldn't have to worry about smearing the dots. Finally, I applied a generous coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat and voila!

For anyone who's new to nail art but wants a great Christmas mani, I think this is a great option - even if it can be a little bit tricky to find green créme polishes in permanent collections. If you try out this mani, I'd love to see how it turns out!
