NAIL ART: Fall Plum Berry Argyle Nails
Fall colors are definitely my favorites. Not only because I really think they're beautiful - and I really, really do - but also because they tend to be the colors that suit me the most. When I really think about my all time, ride or die favorite fall colour, though, I would say that it's pretty hard to beat rich burdungy and plum shades at this time of year - and, in this case, not just because I think they really suit me. In fact, I would say this type of shade suits pretty much anyone. In my opinion, anyway. So for one of my last mani's before I transition into holiday themed nail art, I went with plum!

I decided to take a bit of a risk and pick up four of the six flakie polishes from KADS. Recently I've really fallen in love with their stamping products and I couldn't resist trying out these polishes. Now, as I write this, I have already ordered the other two shades in this collection - you know, in case you were wondering how I feel about them. Keep an eye out.
Orchid Mist is this beautiful mauve taupe shade packed with multichrome flakes that really bring this warm glow to the polish that I just absolutely love. I'm pretty sure that all 6 of the polishes in this collection contain the same flakes... but I am not even remotely mad about that, because they're beautiful and really, really mind me of some of my favorite indie polishes.
For this mani, I applied two coats of Orchid Mist to all of my nail as my base and let them dry down completely.
I have to admit that as much as I have really wanted to try out this argyle image from the Hit The Bottle Material World 01 stamping plate, I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to make it work because in the past similar types of images haven't worked for me. I really wanted to give it a go though, so I went in with a rich dark plum shade (which ends up pulling more like a burgundy in practice) and it actually worked really beautifully. Those fine lines within the larger diamonds actually picked up really, really well, which was seriously impressive. I really think this is a great workhorse stamping plate for any collection.
Once I had applied the argyle image to all of my nails, I crisped up the edges and then sealed in the design with a naila rt top coat. I seriously considered going with a matte finish for this mani, but in the end I decided to go with glossy to really make that base polish sing. I applied a generous layer of Cuticula Limitless QDTC, my current favorite, and voila!

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this base polish and the collection of polishes that it came from. I wouldn't have expected to be able to find this type of formula that performs so beautifully at this price point. All of the ones I've tried are definitely three coaters, but the application and performance is really on point so I don't mind doing that third coat. Highly recommend.
