NAIL ART: Cozy Smoky Blue Graphic Pattern Nails

by - December 27, 2021

Admittedly, after wrapping up holiday themed nails, I was a little bit sapped of inspiration and really not sure what I wanted to put on my nails. Luckily, Christmas Eve brought me some gorgeous and exciting new polishes from NailStuff.ca**, including the base polish I used for this mani, and there was definitely some inspiration there. Because we're still recovering from a somewhat unfortunate quarantine Christmas, I kept it simple, but I think the base polish for this one needed its moment to shine anyway.

Heidi** from 'Ard As Nails is a very, very pale blue crelly packed with chameleon flakes. In the description for this polish, it does say that it can lean white or blue depending on your skin tone, and I can totally see that. On my pasty pale skin, though, it does definitely show up blue. The tone of the flakies in this polish adds a really cool contrast and the density of them in the formula definitely adds just the right amount of texture and interest. It really is an absolutely gorgeous polish that is somehow both really soft and delicate while also being quite impactful.

Formulawise, this polish is pretty sheer on that first coat, but I managed to get easy, smooth opacity on the second coat. If you want to see video of it being applied, check out my tutorial for this mani over on Instagram @pblnails to see!

Like I said above, I was definitely a little bit sapped from the combination of holiday nails and real life, so I kept it really simple with this one. I grabbed from a smoky blue stamping polish and a stamping plate from Pict You that has a lot of different sort of sweater pattern images. I went for this image because it had a good balance of coverage while also really allowing and even helping the base polish to shine. After applying a cuticle barrier, I added the same image in the same direction to each of my nails.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I cleaned up my cuticles and then sealed the design in with a nail art top coat. Finally, I finished with a generous coat of quick dry glossy top coat for shine and voila!

Honestly, I can not say enough good things about this base polish. 'Ard As Nails' Heidi** is an absolutely stunner with a delicate, interesting look and a really gorgeous formula. Personally, I am definitely going to try to get my hands on more of the AAN crelly formula, because it's beautiful. If you're interested in grabbing this one, now's the time as NailStuff.ca is having their site wide 15% Boxing Day Sale up until December 30th, so I would HIGHLY recommend heading over there and grabbing some gorgeous, gorgeous goodies!

It is also our very last #CBBxManiMonday of 2021, so be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof and See The World In PINK to check out what Jayne and Renee have on their nails this week!
