CHRISTMAS NAIL ART: Simple Graphic Nude Christmas Wishes Nails
One thing that I always find myself being mindful of when it comes to putting together Christmas/Holiday themed nail art is that I can't lean entirely on the color palette that we think of as traditionally seasonal. I mean, I love a red and green or icy blue mani as much as the next one, but I feel like great holiday nail art can also come in more non-traditional colors - especially if those colors have a distinctly cozy vibe to them. For today's mani, I leaned into taupe paired with black, white and champagne gold and I think it definitely brings the holiday vibe without being too on the nose.

I've gotta say, the more of Cirque Colors' sheer polishes that I try, specifically in the context of sandwiching a flakie topper between layers of them, the more I fall in love with their sheer formula. It's just... really smooth and even and beautiful to work with. I decided for this mani that I wanted to use that pond mani technique using a sort of taupey grey polish sandwiching a warm toned flakie topper. I love love love the way that iridescent flakie toppers shine through sheer polishes, it's subtle but gives just the right amount of glow. Also, it helps to disguise the visible nail line that's generally unavoidable with sheer polishes.
Initially I had planned on confining the stamping to my middle two fingers, but in the end I decided that for the sake of bringing everything together I was also going to add a couple of flakes to each of the rest of my nails to just tie it all in. For my middle finger, I started by applying small snowflakes at opposing corners of the nail in white and gold before going in with the text in black. And finally for my ring finger, I first applied this sort of brush stroke looking tree image, then the star at the top, and finally some dots for ornaments in white and gold, again just to really bring everything together.
Once I was happy with the design, I sealed in my stamping with a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!
