NAIL ART: Tropical Yellow Floral Smoosh Mani
THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.
As soon as I saw this stamping image on the Pueen 72 Stamping Plate from the 24B Stamping Plate Collection, I immediately wanted it on my nails. It's such an amazing image and the size of it (it fills a whole small round plate) makes it super versatile and easy to use to create a full mani with each nail looking the same. Normally when I think florals, I lean towards pink and purple, but for this one something in my was just screaming for orange and yellow... so I went with it!

Yellow nails aren't something I do all that often, but there's something about it being the height of the summer and going for some bright, sunny yellow nails, so for this mani I went with a yellow smoosh. To start, I applied one coat of the lightest color in my smoosh, in this case a pale, butter yellow, and let that dry. Next, I applied a latex cuticle barrier to make for easier clean up.
For the smoosh, I applied dots of my pale yellow along with a bright yellow and a bright orange to my stamper head and then pounced it onto the nail until I got the blend that I was looking for.
As I said, I knew that this stamping image was going to be perfect to create a full hand mani with no two nails that looked the same. I went in with my white stamping polish and chose one section of the large image for each nail. I was mindful of wanting at least two flowers per nail and a combination of the solid and outlined ones.
Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a matte top coat for a smooth, flat finish. And voila!

The stamping plate that I used for this design came in the Pueen 24B Stamping Buffet Plate Collection, which features a selection of small round plates. I actually really enjoy the smaller plate collections from Pueen because there's such a wide selection of different images in each collection that it makes it a great value. This set is available on Amazon and it's the one that comes in the pink case, though I also own the one in the yellow case and quite like that one as well.
