HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Black & White Wednesday Addams Nails

by - October 05, 2023

When I start planning for Halloween nails, I will admit that I spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking for inspiration. While I generally prefer to be inspired to create my own work through others, as soon as I saw this mani I knew I wanted to recreate my own version of it. I just fell completely in love with the composition of it and knew that I could put together my own version using stamping rather than hand painting that I would love - and I think it turned out pretty great.

In case you were wondering what my favorite black nail polish and white stamping polish are, I used them both for this mani and I think you can see just how impressive both products really are. Starrily's Vantablack is without question my all time favorite black nail polish. It's so insanely pigmented that I've never needed more than one coat and it just gives a perfect black base, period. The only issue I think you might have with it is that you have to have a pretty steady hand because it's super pigmented and can make clean up a bit of a chore if you mess up. Still. Worth it.

It goes out of stock quite frequently, because it is so amazing, but keep an eye out from NailStuff.ca (where it is currently in stock as I'm writing this) and pick it up when you can. First time customers can use affiliate code TRYSH for 10% off!

Anyway, to start this mani, I applied one coat of Vantablack to all of my nails and let that dry down fully.

As I said, I wanted to figure out how to do this mani entirely with stamping because my hand painting skills are... not the best. Luckily, I pulled out the Whats Up Nails B048 Simple Shapes Stamping Plate to do the stripes and it turned out I was also able to use it for the collar and buttons. I used one of the triangle images to create the collar, giving it the sharp, pointy look of the more modern iterations of Wednesday, and then I added the buttons using one row from the spotted image. For the middle finger and thumb, I went with the full cover spiderwebs image from the Whats Up Nails B054 Haul 'r Win Stamping Plate.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine. And voila!

Though this definitely feels a bit different from the inspiration mani, I think I managed to capture the spirit of it and maybe bring it a bit more into my own personal style. Either way, I'm really happy with how this mani turned out and so thrilled that I was able to make the stamping work using the Simple Shapes stamping plate!
