CHRISTMAS NAIL ART: Rich Green Nordic Star Sweater Nails
One of my personal Must Do holiday mani's has always been a nordic star sweater design. I'm not even sure how many years in a row I've done this style of design, but it has definitely been several. In my humble opinion, a nordic star design is peak Christmas sweater - and very often not even ugly. For this mani, I pulled out one of my all time favorite nail polishes, which I am now using as sparingly as possible as I'm pretty sure it has been discontinued, and paired it with a couple of different nordic star images to create a new version of this design. And, of course, I'm in love!

When it comes to créme polishes, my favorite brand by a pretty wide margin is Dimension Nails. I never fail to be impressed by the formula and pigmentation of their créme polishes, but the one that started it all for me is Amazonian Manatee. This rich deep green shade is cool leaning and just absolutely stunning. Like I said above, this one does appear to be discontinued by this point, but if you can find a bottle of it somewhere I HIGHLY recommend. If you can't, they do have a couple of other deep green shades in their line up, so it might be worth checking those out.
To start, I applied one coat of Amazonian Manatee to all of my nails and let that dry down. One coat, you say? Indeed! Like I said, AMAZING pigmentation on these polishes.
I also decided that before I did my stamping, I wanted to add a bit of texture and shine to the design, so I went in with a Sally Hansen's Crystal Top Coat, which is a flakie topper with an orange to green shift that I though would work perfectly with this design.
For the stamping, I mostly used two different images from the Uberchic Beauty It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas stamping plate, but I also brought in the Whats Up Nails B022 Winter Time stamping plate for an assist with probably my all time favorite sweater image, which I applied to my middle finger. For my pointer and pinkie fingers, I applied the single line of stars image horizontally across the nail and then added the single nordic star at the opposite end of the nail. And for my ring finger and thumb, I applied the single line of stars vertically down the center of the nail.
Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a matte top coat to bring down the shine and give a velvety matte finish. And voila!

Honestly, this mani is just all of my favorite things and I love it so much. Though I had to move on and continue doing different designs after this one, I suspect this might be the one I actually go back to on my nails to wear for actual Christmas. I love it that much.
Check back every weekday in December for new Holiday/Christmas themed nails and be sure to head over to @pblnails for video tutorials for every single one of the designs I post here. And who knows, maybe some bonus mani's as well!
