HALLOWEEN NAIL ART | Sheer Opal Spiderwebs Nails
The first year I started doing Halloween nails here on the blog, I did my first version of this mani and I've done a different version of it every year since. This is actually the seventh version of this design I've done and I just couldn't break the tradition even though I'm pretty sure the stamping plate I used for this mani is long discontinued. Still, I love this design and I think it actually still holds up even 6 years later.

Since this design has sort of become something of a signature for me, I decided to pair it this year with what I think of as my signature nail art base - a opal jelly sandwich. For me, this is pretty much always the perfect base for nail art and I do some version of it multiple times per month at this point.
Ultimately - it's pretty simple. I start with one coat of a sheer jelly polish, in this case Cirque's Dove Jelly. Next, I go in with an iridescent flakie topper - in this case, Colores De Carol's Brilliance, which is a new favorite in my collection. And finally, I finish with one more coat of my jelly polish. In the end, you have a sheer, see through base, but the added flakies give you some glow from within and also really help to camouflage any imperfections in your natural nail and a bit of your visible nail line.
For the stamping, I will admit that I did it EXACTLY the same as I have every other time. This design is put together using the Born Pretty BP-L099 Stamping Plate. While this is discontinued, if you're interested in picking up I think there are still a few online retailers who stock it and I personally think it's worth picking up. I use two different images to create this design. For my outer nails, including my thumb, I used the full cover spiderweb image. And for my middle two nails, I use the single web corner image, including the spider on my ring finger.
Once I was happy with the stamping (this was honestly so easy...) I sealed everything in with a no smudge top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!
