Prairie Beauty

I wasn't expecting to have packages in the mail today, because according to my Canada Post app, nothing that I have tracking numbers for is even in the country yet. This one, however, I didn't have a tracking number for, but regardless wasn't actually expecting for at least another week if not two. This is only my second time ordering from BeautynetKorea, but so far I've had pretty good luck with them, so I'll probably keep looking to them when I want specific Kproducts. Or, you know, whimsical TRYME products.

ANYWAY! HAPPY SURPRISE PACKAGESSSSSSSS!!!!

Ahem. I love packages. I especially love packages that contain a Holy Grail product that I'm pretty much out of otherwise. I used my Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream yesterday and it's real low. I was pretty worried that the backup wasn't going to make it in time and I was going to be SOL on the BB for a bit.

LUCKY ME.

I had forgotten what else I ordered, so that eyebrow pencils were a happy surprise too...

Yesterday I posted about my Memebox Tonymoly Superbox and I couldn't resist trying out one of the polishes from the Nail Foundation Kit.

This is a set of three nude polishes in different shades. In the initial swatches, it seemed like they had a more satin finish but when you actually do a full manicure they're a classic cream finish. The first shade 01 is a pale buttery nude that definitely has a yellow undertone to it. The second, 02, is a pinky peach nude. And the third, 03, is a warm, pale caramel nude. All three shades are very, very pretty, but the one that jumped out at me to try was 02.

The above photo is three coats of 02 followed by one coat of Sally Hansen Quick Dry Top Coat, which is by far one of my absolute favorite top coats across the board. It gives a shiny, gel like finish and really helps to keep my nails from chipping.

Now, the details about the Tonymoly 02. Like many nude polishes, this does take a bit of building for full opacity, but if you're careful you can certainly get away with 2 coats for a nice, full coverage finish. I went with three because there were a couple of spots that didn't quite cover - which was more user error than the polish. This polish isn't streaky and actually levels really beautifully. It dries fairly quickly if you do a nice, thin coat and within an hour I was shoving my hands into my purse to grab things and the polish didn't move at all (although that's definitely due, at least in part, to the top coat as well as the polish.)

For the sake of honestly, I will say that underneath this manicure my nails are JACKED UP. I think that due to weather that doesn't have any consistency and the fact that I probably repolish my nails a little too often, I'm having some issues with nails being dry and flaking. Oftentimes, this means that cream polishes are hard for me to work with and get a smooth finish on. With this polish, that was absolutely no problem and it definitely gives my nails a much healthier appearance.

All in all, I really like this polish. In real life it comes off a little darker and warmer than in the pictures, but not a heck of a lot, and even though I washed and dried dishes last night it held up without any chipping (which is rare for me, unfortunately.)

I'm very happy with this polish and will definitely use it again. I'd recommend ordering it if you like nude polishes and can find it online.

XO.

UPDATE: This manicure peeled off pretty much completely after two days. There were a couple of chips and then it just came right off. Not cute. Not cute at all.

I think I said this the last time I got PACKAGES!!!!! with Korean beauty products in them... I LOVE KOREAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS. In fact, I think that in the near future I might have to make a post about my absolute Holy Grail Kproducts. (That can be a thing, right? Kpop, Kdrama, Kproducts? I like 'em all!) So basically, when I saw some Youtube videos of unboxings of the Memebox, I pretty much instantly coveted all of them in my hot little hands.

Here's a little about Memebox...
The original Memebox comes packed with 4 - 8 full sized products and deluxe samples, carefully curated from Korea to give you the best experience and widest exposure to a range of products.
That's the long and short of it. Unlike a lot of the North American beauty boxes, Memebox is NOT a subscription service. Instead, you sign up and receive emails when new boxes become available. This is both a good thing AND a bad thing. It's a good thing because this enables them to curate many different kinds of boxes (such as a box made up entirely of sheet masks or one dedicated to products including snail slime as an active ingredient) and allow customers to pick and choose which they would like to receive and which they don't have any interest in. On the flip side of the coin, it's a bad thing because they sell out incredibly quickly and so it can be hard to get all of the boxes you want if you don't order them right away.

Of course, that's what LuckyBox is for and that's what I managed to order. This box includes items that were included in the first 6 boxes and all Luckyboxes contain the same products. As noted in the description, these items are all either full sized or very generous sample sizes, and all of the products included in the boxes (I believe) are available for purchase on the Memebox website.

SO let's see what I got...

I was actually really excited for this month's IPSY bag after seeing all of the sneak peeks and even though I didn't get exactly what I wanted, I'm actually really happy with what I received. I think I was in the definite minority of people who didn't even want the Benefit Lollitint, so I wasn't the least bit disappointed. Also, I'm glad that everyone received the Urban Decay 24/7 Liner, because it actually feels pretty rare that a universally coveted item like that actually goes out to even the minority.

Let's look at what I got!

IPSY GLAM BAG APRIL 2014
TOTAL VALUE OF THIS MONTH'S BOX: $49.87
