Prairie Beauty

Upon consideration, I probably should have posted reviews as I went instead of the weird running tally of what I was using and what I had killed, but sometimes I make bad choices. So here I am with a big old text laden review post with all of (I think???) the products that I used up this month listed and reviewed as best as I was able. Admittedly, there are a lot of things on this list that I couldn't give a good review on... and then there were things that I hated so violently that I will never put them on my face again. True Story: The girl at Shoppers Drug Mart offered me a sample of one of the products when I popped in there the other night and I straight up turned it down, with a polite thank you, of course. So here you have it.... I'll try to throw in some pictures to make this at least a little less boring.

Not gonna lie... I'm kinda sad that this month is over. I had a lot of fun doing Sample Killah and tearing through the rather larger-than-I-thought-it-was collection of samples that I had amassed. However, it's officially 100% finished now and I'm feeling really good about how I did. I didn't get through everything, but there were a few things that I realize I was never going to be able to use in a month without basically pouring them out... and I didn't have a big enough collection to do that with most things. A few things, yes, but expensive beauty oils... no.

Anyway, keep reading for my last official update on Sample Killah and look for a post with teeny tiny reviews of the products that I used up this month later today!

I think the third week of Sample Killah is a little bit like the third week of a diet. From what I've seen from other people's weekly updates, they had as hard of a time dedicating hard to using up samples this week as I did. I killed hard on the first and last days, but in the middle of the week I slacked hard and hardly used up anything. This being said, I'm still on track to reach my goal... which I think was somewhere in the 40s when I started but became 50 about half way through. 50 is a good, solid number of samples to kill... and I've gotten a bunch of new samples this month that I figure I might as well go for, right?

This week was really weird. It felt like I was using so many samples every single day, but they just weren't getting killed. I think this is because I've been using them the way that they're intended to be used and I'm mostly working through deluxe sized samples at this point... So I get why it's taking so long, but at the same time it makes me feel like I'm not going to reach my goal. Annoying! Plan of attack hasn't really changed this week, just still plugging along and working my way through stuff. Not gonna lie, this week I was really missing some of my skincare routine samples. I didn't cave and use them though, because I'm dedicated.

Keep reading to check out what I used up!

So the first week of July is officially over, which means it's time for my first update on my progress with Sample Killah. I'm feeling pretty good about it, even though a day of pool partying, bbqing, too much grownup punch, and UFC fights sidetracked my sample killing and sent me into the summer cold of doom. I'm still trudging along at my own pace, hoping to get through these samples with perhaps a little time to spare? Probably not. But I think I can, I think I can, I think I can make it... even if I have to get creative at the end of the day.

PLAN OF ATTACK
I thought about it and decided that since I had been hoarding these samples for so long, I wanted to make good use out of them and get a good try - so I'm not using them up in one go and I'm using all of them for their intended purpose. I don't have a HUGE number of samples, so I figure I can do it this way and still have hope of actually making it through this. I'm not entirely sure how that's going to work out, but I'm actually making a pretty decent dent in things and definitely getting a feel for at least a couple of things that I might want to try in full size.

Keep reading for a closer look at my progress.

I wasn't expecting to have packages in the mail today, because according to my Canada Post app, nothing that I have tracking numbers for is even in the country yet. This one, however, I didn't have a tracking number for, but regardless wasn't actually expecting for at least another week if not two. This is only my second time ordering from BeautynetKorea, but so far I've had pretty good luck with them, so I'll probably keep looking to them when I want specific Kproducts. Or, you know, whimsical TRYME products.

ANYWAY! HAPPY SURPRISE PACKAGESSSSSSSS!!!!

Ahem. I love packages. I especially love packages that contain a Holy Grail product that I'm pretty much out of otherwise. I used my Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream yesterday and it's real low. I was pretty worried that the backup wasn't going to make it in time and I was going to be SOL on the BB for a bit.

LUCKY ME.

I had forgotten what else I ordered, so that eyebrow pencils were a happy surprise too...
