Prairie Beauty

I realize that I'm pretty late to the game with this review, but I have to admit that I didn't pick this up before now because I wasn't really sure how many of the shades were going to work for me and I didn't want to buy a palette that I wasn't sure I'd use. I was actually lucky enough to win the NYX Strobe Of Genius Illuminating Palette in a blog giveaway recently and I was really excited to finally get to try it out. I'd heard mixed reviews about the palette and was eager to form my own opinion - especially since I've finally jumped on the highlighter bangwagon only recently. I know this palette has been out for over a year - but I still wanted to review it from my perspective since I'm sure there are a lot of people who, like me, aren't quite sure if it's worth it for them.

You guys may or may not know this, but one of my biggest makeup related regrets is not picking up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Gleam Glow Kit before it disappeared. Honestly, I had every intention of picking it up, but I just never got around to it and then it was discontinued and I was very, very disappointed. Recently, while perusing the makeup section at my local Winners, the w7 Strobe Time Highlighting Palette in It's Glow Time caught my eye and I couldn't help thinking it reminded me a heck of a lot of the Gleam palette I'm still mourning the lack of. So, of course, I picked it up. Now, this review obviously won't be a dupe comparison since I don't have Gleam to compare it to, but I wanted to give you my thoughts on it anyway!

As highlighter has become the thing that everyone in the beauty world seems to be obsessed with, there's still been quite a lack of good highlighters in the drugstore. Honestly, I feel like there have been one or two stand outs, but everything else seems to pale in comparison to its higher end counterparts. However, with the release of the Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powders, everyone seemed to go mad with excitement and I was absolutely dying to get my hands on them - or at least on the lighter shade, Precious Petals. FINALLY, with the help of a reader who gave me a heads up that I could find this shade at Rexall, I managed to get my hands on it and the excitement was oh so real!

There are a lot of products that I've had my eye on for a long time but haven't yet gotten around to picking up. One of those products that I've been lusting after for literally years is theBalm's Mary Lumanizer, which I think has basically reached cult status at this point. During Holiday 2016, when theBalm released The Manizer Sisters Luminizing Collection palette, which contains Mary along with Cindy and Betty, I waffled a little bit but still wanted it. So when I saw it on sale at my local Rexall for 50% recently, I instantly picked it up. I mean... I had to, right?

Last year, one of the most surprising and exciting products that I found in the drugstore was the essence Pure Nude Highlighter, which I still use consistently and you may recall got featured in my 2016 Favorite Cheek Products. When I saw that they had released the essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette, I was 100% on board to get it into my hot little hand and ordered it with my big Cyber Monday Haul. I've finally been putting it to the test and I'm ready to review it for you guys, so keep reading to see how it worked out for me!

Hey guys! I know it's been a minute since I've posted over here, but I took a little bit of time away from blogging to really enjoy the holidays with friends and family... and then I basically got hit by a big truck of illness and have spent the last few days in bed pretty much unable to function. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Anyway, I had a few different posts planned to start off 2017, but I decided to go a slightly lazy route since I'm still recovering and come in with a haul for you guys! And, trust me, this haul is LONG time coming. I made this order on Cyber Monday (Nov. 28) and received it yesterday (Jan. 3). Yup. It took 3 weeks for them to process my order. At 24 days after I ordered, they sent me a message telling me that a limited edition product I ordered had gone out of stock. And finally after 5 weeks of waiting, my order arrived. I still love essence products, guys, but I have to be honest and tell you I'm never ordering from their website again. Not only is their Canadian shipping absolutely offensive, but the delivery time for my order was unacceptable.

However, like I said, I still love their products and am pretty happy with almost everything that I picked up, so keep reading to see the haul!
