The Body Shop Haul

by - April 10, 2014

Okay, I feel a little bit like this blog into turning into an Ode To New Crap I'm Going To Try... but I can't resist. In the future, every item in this haul will be reviewed. Well, maybe not the body scrub... because what can you say about a body scrub? Unless it blows my mind or makes my skin fall off, I'll probably skip it.

Anyway... PACKAGES!!!!!!

I ordered this last Friday because the 40% off everything and the promise of free shipping once I got $50 worth of stuff felt like it was giving me permission to order a bunch of things I'd been wanting to try. So I did. I feel a little bit like I am the person that 40% off sales are designed to attract, because it feels like a license to shop to me.

ANYWAY... Keep reading to see what I picked up in closer detail and with descriptions from TheBodyShop.ca!

HAND & BODY STUFF
Brazil Nut Body Scrub
Real talk, I'm actually really looking forward to trying this. I picked it up because I heard good things from people and I love a good, creamy body scrub and I prefer stuff I use on my body not to have a floral or fruity scent. Is that weird???
Get soft, glowing skin with a creamy body scrub that has evening primrose seeds and crushed walnut shells to exfoliate.
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Stimulates skin microcirculation
  • Leaves skin feeling super-soft
  • Sweet and nutty scent
Almond Hand & Nail Cream
I've never used this particular hand cream, but I got my boyfriend the Hemp one for Christmas in a MANicure set and now that it lives on his nightstand I end up stealing it on those nights when my hands are feeling rough before bed, but I can't get behind the smell on me. And lately, I've been on a HUGE almond scent kick - which I blame on the L'Occitane Sweet Almond Body Oil, which is made out of silky, silky heaven.
This effective daily hand cream cares for nails as well as hands and contains two manicurist’s essentials: sweet almond oil and panthenol. Moisturizing Conditions nails Sweet almond scent
FACE STUFF
Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm
First of all... "Sumptuous"? Really, The Body Shop? Really? That said, I've been wanting to see what the cleansing balm craze is all about and I've heard tell that this is a pretty good gateway drug. I'm actually really looking forward to trying this one and will undoubtedly use it tonight.
This cleanser is an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered.
  • Gently melts away make-up
  • Leaves skin feeling clean and petal-soft
  • Removes all types of make-up
  • Suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers
Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
Where the cleansing balm is a train that I'm just beginning to think about boarding, the cleansing oil train is one I've been on since last summer when I tried it for the first time. I feel like the cleansing oils that work with my skin really work with my skin. Last summer I was dealing with dehydrated skin that was breaking out like crazy and just looked rough most of the time. I feel like when I regularly use a cleansing oil at the end of the day, my skin loves me a lot more than any other time. I got this one because I'm eagerly trying out cleansing oils trying to see which ones I love best. Surely there will be a post about this in the future.
This silky-soft cleanser will effortlessly remove make-up from the whole face quickly and effectively, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and clear of impurities. It’s the ultimate time-saver.
Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask - Single Use
Tea Tree Face Mask - Single Use
I tend to collect these single use masks like it's going out of style and I already have a bunch of them in a little dish on my vanity just waiting to be slathered on my face. These will undoubtedly get tucked in there too, although I feel like tonight might be a mask kind of an evening, so maybe I'll get crazy and only hoard one of these. Or I might just do what I do every other time... Think about opening one of these foil packets, but bust out the Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask instead, since it always gives me a good skin day the next day.

AND ONE HAIR THING...
Rainforest Radiance Detangling Spray
I was influenced to buy this one by someone on Youtube... but it would be a miracle if I could remember who. Anyone else check out other people's hauls when they're hauling themselves or do I just spend way too much time spending my money? Anyway, it was that recommendation that brought this to my attention and whoever it was that recommended it said it smelled amazing, which is admittedly one of the things I look for in my hair products. The claims on the site sealed it for me. I have colour treated hair that has been acting a fool lately, so I'm eager to try this and see if it's like a warm hug for my jacked up hair.
BEST IF YOU WANT TO: Soften, add shine and protect vibrancy of color-treated hair using a leave-in conditioner containing a UV filter without silicones, sulphates, parabens or colorants. With pracaxi oil, bilberry extract, linseed oil and Community Trade aloe vera.
BEST FOR: colored hair
How it works:
  • Antioxidant bilberry extract helps to protect hair from environmental aggressors.
  • Community Trade aloe vera moisturizes and protects hair.

That is the end of my haul and I'm definitely going to try to do some reviews and other kinds of posts before there are any more hauls. That being said, I have packages on their way to me and no idea when some of them will arrive, so it's possible that that last statement is a bald faced lie.

Bye!
