MiniHaul: Korean Beauty

by - June 25, 2014

I wasn't expecting to have packages in the mail today, because according to my Canada Post app, nothing that I have tracking numbers for is even in the country yet. This one, however, I didn't have a tracking number for, but regardless wasn't actually expecting for at least another week if not two. This is only my second time ordering from BeautynetKorea, but so far I've had pretty good luck with them, so I'll probably keep looking to them when I want specific Kproducts. Or, you know, whimsical TRYME products.

ANYWAY! HAPPY SURPRISE PACKAGESSSSSSSS!!!!

Ahem. I love packages. I especially love packages that contain a Holy Grail product that I'm pretty much out of otherwise. I used my Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream yesterday and it's real low. I was pretty worried that the backup wasn't going to make it in time and I was going to be SOL on the BB for a bit.

LUCKY ME.

I had forgotten what else I ordered, so that eyebrow pencils were a happy surprise too...

One thing that I absolutely love about BeautynetKorea is the free shipping. When it comes to online shopping, the cost of shipping to Canada will often deter me from ordering things that I would have otherwise bought - even if the item was a few bucks more expensive to build in the cost of shipping. I wish that more companies would realize that building the cost of shipping into their items rather than adding it after the fact would probably increase their online orders. Maybe that's just me. Also, if the shipping time is going to be long I'm less likely to be cranky about it if I haven't had to shell out extra for shipping. Luckily, every time I've ordered products from Korea, they've come with free shipping. Perhaps why I'm more likely to try things out?

But I digress...

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit - US$14.40 (Member Price)
I'm not going to talk too much about this product, because I've said it all before. This is my favorite BB cream of any that I've tried. Asian BB creams, in my experience, have really good coverage and this one is definitely no exception. I also really love the healthy, luminous finish of this BB cream on my skin. I feel like it makes me look really healthy and fresh, which is again one of the big selling points for me on Asian BB cream. In case it wasn't clear, this is one that I'd definitely recommend to all my fellow dry skin ladies out there. Holy Grail status.

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow - (1+1) US$6.65 (Member Price)
When it comes to eyebrow products, I think I'm pretty picky. Generally I like to use something that's fairly hard, definitely nothing too creamy, and something that I can build rather than something that goes on heavy. My preferred eyebrow is one that is well defined without looking too prepped, which can be a pretty tricky business.

Lately, I've been using the Anastasia Brow Wiz, but near $25 Canadian price point is just a little too much for me. I'd heard some pretty good reviews of the Etude House Drawing Eye Brow pencils and when I saw that you could get 2 of them for a discounted price, I figured that I'd take a shot. I actually found it nice that for under $7, I could try out two different shades to find the one that would work best. Nice thing about these? One is much more neutral and one is a little bit warmer, but I think both will work for my colouring depending on the rest of my makeup look. Also, I like the slanted tip, which reminds me of the Hourglass eyebrow pencil that one of the guys at Sephora used last time I got my makeup done there. I've got high hopes for these.

SAMPLES:
(2) Etude House Sunprise Must Daily
(4) Tonymoly I'm Real Lemon Brightening Lotion
Another great thing, at least as far as I'm concerned, when ordering from a Korean company is that they're always pretty generous with the samples. Also, the samples tend to be for things that I can actually afford - unlike Sephora, where I feel like I'm usually getting samples for luxury items that I'll unlikely be able to justify buying.

I wasn't expecting to have these samples before the start of Sample Killah, but since I've got them now I'm definitely going to add them to the list and try to use them up next month. Otherwise, they'll likely just hang out until the spirit moves me to try out some stuff.

Stay tuned for these to be included in my Sample Killah progress reports to hear how I liked them!

This was a much longer post than I expected it to be, but... PACKAGESSSSS!!!!!!!

XO.
