REVIEW: The Body Shop Red Musk Eau De Parfum
The first time I smelled this, I was at the mall with my best friend doing some Christmas shopping. I had recently read something online about it that clued me into the fact that, with notes of cinnamon and tobacco, this would likely be right up my alley. So I spritzed it on the little card, gave it a good whiff, and pretty much fell completely in love. I've never been a big fan of overly soft, feminine fragrances, having always been more drawn to deeper, sexier fragrances that ran a little bit more masculine. I carried that damn card around with me, sniffing it every so often and falling a little bit more in love. The next time I went to the mall, I grabbed a fresh card and took it home for subsequent sniffing. It was Christmas, after all, and I had no excuse for shopping for myself. Luckily, my best friend is pretty much the best gift giver ever and hooked me up with a bottle for Christmas so I could stop picking up new cards for random smell breaks.

From The Body Shop:
Defy conventions with Red Musk™ eau de parfum. Spiced musk with hot notes of cinnamon and intense tobacco for a distinctly different fragrance.
- No flowers – just a bold blend of musk and spice
- Contains cruelty-free musk
- Lasting eau de parfum
This isn't going to be for everyone, I'll say that right off the bat. It's a unisex scent that works easily on both men and women, which is something that is actually really rare, but if you prefer a softer, more feminine scent this won't float your boat. However, if you like those deep, sultry, borderline masculine scents then you just might love this like I do.
Aside from the scent, which I find to be downright perfection, there are a couple of other things that make this a win for me. First, I find that it wears surprisingly subtly. I can't stand a perfume that is overwhelming, so I need something that's going to be more like a whisper than a scream and this absolutely is that. Normally, I find that those kinds of scents fade away about midway through the day, but this one holds on absolutely all day and I find myself occasionally surprised when I bring my wrist near my face and get a whiff of my perfume. Another thing I love about it is that I don't get any alcohol edge to the scent at all. It smells like pure fragrance from the time you put it on until it finally disappears.
Honestly, I can't recommend this enough for people who are into this kind of scent. It's quite affordable, as far as fragrances are concerned, and it smells and performs like a very high quality fragrance to me. This is also available in a perfume oil, but I found that there were slight differences in the scent and I preferred the Eau De Parfum over the fragrance oil.
If you'll excuse me... I have to go sniff myself now. ;)
