GUEST POST: Gemstone Beauty

by - July 15, 2015

Hi beauties!

Sam here from Gemstone Beauty. Special thank you to Trysh to allow me to guest post on her blog this month as part of the CBB guest posts.  This month's theme is Canadian Love. I suppose I could have brought up all the Canadian food, but let's face it, I'm a very picky eater and wouldn't be very good at talking about food.

So instead of talking about our delicious pure maple syrup, poutine, Wayne Gretzky and other hockey players, let me share with you some of my favourite beauty and skincare brands that have come out of the Great White North.

Lise Watier

A few pieces of my Lise Watier collection

With their main office located in Québec, this cosmetic company will always hold a special place in my heart. Lise Watier was the first non-drugstore brand I've tried and had me wanting each and every single one of their Couleur Follie loose eyeshadows. I've tried their loose and pressed eye shadows, glitter eyeliners, pencil eyeliners, bronzers, lipsticks and the ever-popular Portfolio Professional Correctors. Each of their products performed amazingly and the Portfolio is highly recommended for anyone who wants a more customized approach to concealing problem areas or highlighting others. Bonus: They DO NOT test on Animals!

Marcelle

Isn't that little travel one adorable?

Available in most drugstores in Canada, my first experience with Marcelle was their eye makeup remover. To this day, it is still one of my favourite eye makeup removers. I've since branched out and tried their Soothing Cleansing Water and Tonifying Lotion. So far, nothing has disappointed me! Bonus: They DO NOT test on Animals!

Bite Beauty

Sable, Rhubarb, Winterberry and Pomegranate

I feel like everyone has heard of Bite Beauty; after all, they are available at Sephora. This brand is well known for their luscious lipsticks. I was lucky enough to receive a set of 4 mini Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencils at Christmas time and I love them! Super creamy and available in a wide variety of colours, Bite Beauty has a lipstick for everyone!

Yaby Cosmetics

A combination of shadows in my neutral palette: Kat Von D, Too Faced, Lise Watier and Tarte

Honestly, I never knew Yaby Cosmetics was Canadian until I did a little research. I absolutely love their Freestyle palette. If you've seen any of my posts from way-back in the day, you may have read a post about depoting and how much room these guys have saved me! They may be a tiny bit smaller than the Z Palettes, but when comparing prices at IMATS, Yaby is cheaper. I also think they are more solid and better looking (but that is just my opinion!) Yaby also sells a variety of products in little pans for your palettes, or you can purchase one of their pre-made sets. Bonus: They DO NOT test on Animals!

Again, thank you so much Trysh and I hope everyone enjoyed!
