Green mascara??? Yup, green mascara! I've actually been tiptoeing more and more into colored mascaras recently and I have a pretty decent little collection going. For me, summer is the time to play with a bright pop of color on the lower lashline and there limitless possibilities to the looks you can create with those bright pops. I suppose Limitless Lime is a great name for this shade in that case, isn't it? Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure what to make of this when I first opened the tube and got a look at it, but all it took was a little creativity and I figured out exactly the best way to use it for me!

Keep reading for a closer look!

From Hard Candy:
Think beyond the ordinary with this daring mascara formula that gives volume, length, and vibrant color for bold impact. Packed full of pigments that deliver intense color payoff, go for it, we dare you!

I really love the look of this tube. It's a bright silver metallic tube with black and lime green branding and text on it, which I personally think gives it a higher end look. The wand is actually quite large with thick traditional bristles. I'm actually not a huge fan of this particular wand for this particular mascara, since my preference is to use it as a pop of color on the lower lash line and the size of this brush definitely makes doing that a little more difficult. Still, I did manage to make it work without making mess, so it's definitely usable - just not my favorite.

With most colored mascaras, I find that the best way to really amp them up is to use them with a matching liner or shadow and this one is no different. I find that it can be hard to get the full impact of the color when using it on its own, but you can really amp up that vibrancy with liner or shadow. You can built this mascara up without having to worry too much about clumping, but for really high impact you do need a lot of coats and I personally find it easier to just go with a liner. However, using this at the tips of your lashes (or especially a fair of falsies) can be a great way to add something a little special to an eye look.

For me, it's all about doing a neutral matte contoured eye look on the lid and bumping it up with bright liner and mascara on the lower lash line, like the photo below. It's an easy look with a lot of punch, and I also feel like it's very wearable for all kinds of women! I feel like doing this type of look with a colored mascara is a lot better than just using liner, because it gives a lot more impact this way.

Overall, I don't think this is a must have, but it's definitely a fun addition my makeup collection. I also like that it's quite affordable, which is nice since it's not something that I'll be using every day. This mascara also comes in a bright pink shade... and I think I'll have to pick it up and see what I can do with it!

So what do you think? Colored mascara, yay or nay?
