REVIEW: Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil* + GIVEAWAY
I use a cleansing oil to take off my makeup pretty much every single day. It's actually been quite a long time since I started using cleansing oils and I always seem to come back to them - unless I'm too lazy, which is occasional. Still, I find that, for me, nothing takes off my eye makeup quite like a good cleansing oil. I use this as a part of a double cleanse, so I use the cleansing oil to take off the surface makeup and dirt, and then I go in with a traditional skin cleanser to actually clean the skin. I find that this is the most effective way to cleanse my skin, personally, and I can't see this changing anytime soon. SO after all of that introduction, I've recently had the chance to try out the new Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil* and I'm ready to give my thoughts on how this product performs!

From Palmers.com:
Gently deep cleanse skin with the power of Pure Cleansing Oils, Cocoa Butter and Vitamin C. Dissolves dirt, oil and make-up and rinses perfectly clean without stripping skin. Purifies complexion for clear, soft and brighter looking skin. Ideal for all skin types.First, I want to get this out of the way because I know it will be make or break for a lot of people. This does have the Rosehip Fragrance, so lovers of rose scents (of which I know there are many) will probably go crazy for it, but those of use who aren't so keen on rose scents probably won't be huge fans. It's not too overwhelming a fragrance though, and I have found that since I've been using it I've become more accustomed to the scent and I actually kind of enjoy the sensory experience now. Still, personally, I would pretty much kill for a cleansing oil that smelled like other Palmer's products - Straight up chocolate chip cookie dough!
Now for the important stuff... How does it work?
I've been using this for a few weeks now and I'm finding that I really love the texture of it. It's a little bit thicker than some other cleansing oils that I've used, but I feel like that actually works in it's favor because it's really able to get in there and break up the makeup. Even though it is thicker, I still find that it easily rinses clean without any residue. My favorite way to remove this is to use a hot wash cloth and hold it against my skin before wiping it away, and then repeat the process a second time. For me, this works perfectly and leaves my skin feeling clean without any tightness or surface residue.
I've found this to be incredibly effective at removing my makeup, even the waterproof mascara that I love so much to hold a curl in my lashes. I like to use the very tips of my fingers and very gently rub the product over my lashes to break up the product and it does a phenomenal job. Honestly, that's where the test of a cleansing oil really comes in for me and when one does a really good job of it, I count it as a win.
So would I recommend this product? Absolutely! If you're really adverse to rose scents, I wouldn't necessarily say you should run out and try this, but for me this has definitely been the most effective cleansing oil that I've found at a drugstore price point with fairly convenient availability - and those a pretty important boxes for me! So yes, I would recommend giving this product a try.
