2015 BEAUTY FAVORITES: Lip Products

by - January 06, 2016

Lip products are probably my favorites to buy, I have to admit. In 2015, I shifted into a pretty intense love affair with matte liquid lipsticks - as did everyone else, it seems - and completely stopped trying to love lip gloss, which will just never be my thing.  I feel like I try more lip products than any other makeup product and I genuinely get excited whenever there are new lip products on the market. Four out of my five 2015 lip favorites are new discoveries this year, and one is basically a forever favorite that will never die.

Anyway, enough with the rambling, let's get onto the favorites. Keep reading to take a closer look!

1. NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm
This is probably the most recent find of all of my lip favorites this year, but it's a doozy. I like to use this overnight and I feel like it has basically given my lips new life. The combination of an insane number of matte lipsticks I've been wearing lately and the cold weather can tend to dry my lips out madly, but when I use this as a part of my nighttime skin care routine I find that my lips feel plump and hydrated come morning no matter what I've put them through at night. If you haven't tried this yet, I highly recommend it!

2. BITE Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Retsina
This is a forever favorite that I suspect I will have in my collection as long as it's available for repurchase. My perfect nude, this lipstick looks beautiful on the lips, has great wear time, and feels incredibly comfortable and hydrating. For me, it can be difficult to find a nude that suits my skin tone and manages to actually look really good on the lips, but this is just absolutely perfect. I think this might be my favorite high end lip formula of all time.

3. Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Naked
When it comes to the warm neutral matte lip trend (which I refuse to attribute to a certain reality tv teenager) this is probably my favorite. This formula is really smooth and comfortable, while still being distinctly matte. I love this lipstick for pretty much any daytime look and I tend to carry it in my purse with me at all times just to throw on whenever I need a little something. I'm looking forward to trying more of the shades in this line, but I suspect that none of them will beat this one for me. Bonus points for the fact that I think this particular tone will suit a lot of different skin tones.

4. Colourpop Lippie Stix in Poison
Like I said in my review, this is my surprise favorite from my first Colourpop haul. This deep brown-toned red is bold while still managing to be really comfortable, and also has really amazing staying power and comfort. Honestly, this has jumped to the top of the heap of reds for me and was my go to over the holiday season when I wanted a red lip that wasn't going to be too over the top. This one really is a surprise that I wasn't expecting to love nearly so much when I ordered it on a bit of a whim after hearing EmilyNoel from Beauty Broadcast mention it in a video.

5. Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve
I mentioned this product in my Knee Jerk Favorites of 2015 and it still remains the one that I would have to call my ultimate favorite. I've been reaching for this several times a week ever since I got it and I suspect that I'll be picking up a backup, just because I want it to be in my collection for keeps. This is probably my favorite liquid lipstick formula that I've tried and I want more shades, but suspect this will continue to be the forever favorite for me. If you haven't tried this formula yet and are a fan of matte lips, you absolutely need to get your hands on one of them!

And thus completes my favorite lip products of 2015. I feel very confident that I really did choose the top of the heap of my favorites for the past year and that nothing beats out any of these. I also feel like there are some really affordable options in this bunch, so they're well worth a try!

Thanks for reading and come back tomorrow for my favorite cheek products of 2015!
