REVIEW: Bumble and bumble Top Picks Sephora Point Perk

by - June 23, 2017

Ever since Sephora launched the Rewards Bazaar, I've been anxiously awaiting a perk that I really wanted to get my hands on - and that I was able to grab before it sold out. The Rewards Bazaar can be pretty cutthroat and a lot of things sell out really fast. Anyway, because I'd been wanting to try a lot of hard products from the brand, I decided to pick up the Bumble and bumble. Top Picks perk for 750 points. Considering this is well over a $50 value, I'm pretty happy that I grabbed it. I was pretty thrilled that it actually came with a really great neoprene travel bag that I'm definitely going to be putting to use during my upcoming trip as well!

If you're interested in my thoughts on these four cult products from Bumble and bumble. keep reading!

Bumble and bumble. Thickening Dryspun Finish Spray
I think this might be the first Bb product that pretty much went viral - and I've been itching to try it ever since. This definitely had a moment a couple of years ago when everyone seemed to be going crazy for this product. I quite like it, but I'm not sure it quite lives up to the hype for me. The way I like to use this it at my roots on clean hair, because it helps to give some texture and lift there so that my hair doesn't look limp and lifeless. I think it's good, and it's definitely better than the drugstore product I've been using for the same purpose, but I'm not sure this is one that would be worth the high end spend more me. Good, but not mind blowing.

Bumble and bumble. Prêt-à-Powder
The reason I'd  never picked up the Bb Prêt-à-Powder until now was because I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to feel about a powder dry shampoo, it was something I'd never pulled the trigger on trying out. Well, I needn't have worried, because I'm actually a little bit in love with this. It's super easy to use and seems to pour out just the right amount of product into my hair without too much fuss, it smells good without being too strong, and it works well without leaving a white cast in my hair. In fact, I find that it doesn't take much to work this in with my fingers and it gets rid of oiliness at my scalp and gives me back some of the lift and texture that tends to get lost with second and third day hair. I love this. It's spendy, but I suspect this bottle is going to last me longer than a typical dry shampoo spray, so I have a feeling this is going to be something I keep going back to.

Bumble and bumble. Don't Blow Fine (H)air Styler
This is actually the product in this set that I was least excited to try and didn't really reach for right away, but it has become my favorite product in this entire set by quite a bit. I absolutely hate blow drying my hair, which ultimately leads to a lot of messy buns in my day to day life, so I love that this is a styling product that it intended to be used on air drying hair to help smooth everything out and help with texture. Because I currently have a wavy perm and have naturally fine hair, this is basically exactly what I've been looking for. I generally use this on towel dried hair that has been combed with a wide tooth comb. I literally just smoosh a little bit into my hands and then work in through my hair in a scrunching motion and I feel like it gives me a really nice definition and shine and keeps my hair from looking frizzy and too undone.

Bumble and bumble. Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer
This is yet another winner, in my opinion. First off, and one of the most superficially important things to me in hair products, is that this smells gorgeous. I love putting this in my hair and then just giving it a sniff... Weird? However, beyond that, I feel like this product does exactly what it's supposed to do. I obviously don't heat style my hair that often anymore - because I am super lazy with my hair - but on the occasions that I do I definitely prefer to keep my hair protected. That said, I've used this even when I'm not heat styling and I feel like it leaves my hair soft and shiny without really feeling like I've put product into it. I've used the original Bb. Hairdressers Invisible Oil before and I definitely prefer this one.

Overall, I'm so glad that I picked up this reward set, because I really feel like getting the chance to try out all of these products was well worth it. At a $65CAD value, I think this set was a really good choice and I know that I'm going to consistently use each of the products, and likely will repurchase at least two of them. Bonus: the bag that came with the set is great quality and perfect size for traveling.

Even though this set isn't available anymore, I hope that the mini-reviews of each product were helpful for you if you may have been thinking about trying out these products, as I was. Let me know in the comments if you think there are any other Bumble and bumble. products that you would recommend I try out!
