SUBSCRIPTION: Ipsy Glambag July 2017
Is anyone else feeling some serious summer laziness at the moment? I AM! Honestly, I just want to sprawl out in a zero gravity chair on my patio with a cider and read pretty much all the time. The warm weather is making me distinctly slothy. This is clearly my apology for the possibility that content will slow down over the coming weeks. ANYWAY, it's time for another Ipsy Subscription post - which I suspect will be my second to last one - for July's bag!
Wanna see what I got? Keep reading!
111SKIN Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel
We can’t all get 8 hours of shut-eye every night, but we can def fake it ‘til we make it thanks to this next level under-eye gel! From brightening and minimizing puffiness to hydrating and minimizing fine lines, we can’t help but wonder: Is there anything it *doesn’t* do?
This is definitely the most exciting thing in the bag for me, because I've been impressed with 111SKIN in the past and lately I've been all about finding good products for my eyes. As I approach one of the milestone birthdays at the end of the summer, I'm definitely noticing that my eyes need a little bit of extra TLC and I'm hoping that this will do all the things that I need it to do. Know what I mean? Down with fine lines and puffiness.
tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel
Dissolve waterproof makeup with this hypoallergenic, non-drying cleanser that’s ideal for daily use. It’s vegan, so antioxidant marine ingredients like algae and marine flower extract are the only food we see!
I'm a bit of a cleansing junkie - I swear, the shelf in my bathroom has no less than 8 cleansers on it at the moment - so I'm never unhappy to receive a cleanser to try out. The fact that this is a gel cleanser that promises to dissolve my makeup is interesting to me and I'm definitely going to put that to the test. I'm a double cleanser every day, so anything that works really well for my first step is welcome.
Ciate Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black
You can literally create ANY eye look (from slept in and smudgy to razor sharp flicks) with this magic wand. It’s double-ended with a rich, inky black kohl formula on one side and a blending/smudging brush on the other.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it... I hate getting black eyeliners in subscription services. I have SO many black pencil liners that I just don't use, because I don't use pencil liner all that often - particularly black pencil liner. Anyway, I think I'm going to end up giving this away because, while I'm sure it's fine, I know I won't use it.
Beau Gachis Illuminator Brush
You. Better. Work. You were obviously born to shine, and this genius brush is dedicated to helping you make that happen. You can use it for literally ALL your fave glow-getting formulas, from powders and creams to liquids and gels.
Every time I get a brush from Ipsy, I'm happy about it. Literally, brushes are pretty much guaranteed to make me happy. Except flat concealer brushes, which can just go away. Anyway, I didn't think I was going to love this one until I used it to apply my highlighter this morning - and now I LOVE it. The size is perfect for applying highlighter exactly where you want it and it's got some density and stiffness to it that perfectly buffs the product into the skin. I love it!!
Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ripple Ombré Radiance Blush Palette
Consider all your blush bases covered. This super versatile palette has 3 shades, so you can get any look from super subtle to seriously lit.
In the picture on the website, this product looked FAR bigger than it actually is. Like, this is tiny and I'll admit that I was pretty bummed about that when I opened the bag. The shades are pretty and I think they'll work really well on my skin... if I can successfully get a brush into the pan without having to work so hard that I just reach for something else instead. Rather than three shades, I'd rather have one shade that took up the entire palette and was easy to stick a brush into. Sort of meh about this one.
Overall, this bag is a bit of a surprise for me. Usually, I'm much more excited about makeup products than I am about skin care, but I'm definitely a lot more into the skin care and the brush that I received this month than either of the makeup products. Like I said above, I'm planning on redeeming my points and finally cancelling my Ipsy subscription next month because it's just not working for me anymore - but I still think it's an exciting service for people just signing up.
Thanks for reading!
