REVIEW: Roger + Gallet Le Soin Aura Mirabilis Legendary Cream
When I first started reading about French brand Roger & Gallet when they announced their partnership with Sephora.ca, I was really, really interested. With skin care products like a Beauty Vinegar and Legendary Fluid, a wide range of fragrance and body care products, and over 150 years making beauty products I was convinced that I needed to try some of this stuff out. The first product I have here to tell you guys about the is the Roger & Gallet Le Soin Aura Mirabilis Legendary Cream*, which promises to help even skin tone and made your skin look radiant.

About:
Inspired by beauty recipes from the past, designed to even out skintone, and enriched with lily water, this cream works to smooth and even out skintone. It reveals your skin’s natural radiance, and by providing continuous hydration, it helps to reduce skin discomfort.
The formula harnesses all the natural properties of 18 distilled officinal plants, combined with an extract of fresh white lily flowers. The micro-emulsion texture melts into the skin upon application, offering the perfect balance of freshness and comfort, and leaves a silky finish.
The 50ml jar of the Legendary Cream is packaged in a simple glass jar with a while lid and simple branding. Obviously jars aren't my favorite kind of packaging, personally, but a lot of the creams that I love come packaged in them and it makes sense since they tend to be more richly textured.
The scent of this cream is actually somewhat hard for me to describe. It's distinctly floral, but there's a light, crispness to it that feels very sophisticated without feeling overly mature - if that makes any sense at all. I actually really, really love this scent and I take a minute to really breathe it in every time I apply this cream.
The thing that really makes this cream feel special to me is the texture. While it feels incredibly rich and hydrating, the micro-emulsion texture really does melt into the skin quickly without leaving any greasiness or residue behind. And while some creams that sink in quickly can be a little lacking in hydration, this one really packs a serious moisture punch without being overwhelming to my normal to combination skin. I really do feel like this is a cream that I could use all year even though my skin changes so much with the seasons, because it has that really amazing balance of hydration and lightness.
Overall, I'm really, really impressed with this cream. If you're not a skin care dork like myself, it may seem like a cream is a cream is a cream, but I really think there's something special about the texture and performance of this one. Since I've been using it as a part of my nighttime routine, I've found that my skin feels consistently hydrated and that it's looking and behaving really healthy. I don't know that I would recommend this to someone with oily skin, but it claims to be suited for normal, combination and sensitive skins and I really do think that's bang on. I also think it would make a great summertime cream for dry skin types.
The Roger & Gallet Le Soin Aura Mirabilis Legendary Cream* retails for $55CAD and is available in Canada at Sephora!
