MANI MONDAY: Fresh Spring Floral Gradient Nails

by - June 03, 2019

Hey guys! For the month of June, our #CBBxManiMonday theme is Brights... and I feel like I'm really, really going to have fun with it. Of course, I'm sort of bleeding the May and June themes into each other because I have some floral stamping in today's look, but it really just had to be done. I actually tried something else before I did this mani and it didn't come out as bright as I was intended - but it's actually really pretty so I'm going to share it over on @pblnails and if you're interested in seeing all of my nail art you should definitely follow me there!

But for now, keep reading for a closer look at this Fresh Spring Floral Gradient mani and to find out how I got it!

To start, I applied one coat of Color Club East Austin, which is a gorgeous neon peach shade, and let it dry completely. Next, I used a makeup sponge to apply a gradient of East Austin, Wicker Park (a bleached out neon blue based pink), and Pucci-Licious (a dusty cool toned purple) for a kind of sunset type of look. As I almost always do with a gradient, I wanted to add a topper for a little bit of interest and a smooth blend so I reached for Glam Polish Anuenue, which has flakies and holos and gorgeousness, oh my!

For the stamping, I really wanted to use black because I feel like the crispness of black always seems to pop over a gradient of bright tones, so I reached for my favorite Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish. I wanted to use sort of abstract floral images, so I actually reached for two different stamping plates that have images that play really well together for this mani. First, for my first and pinkie fingers, I used the Maniology (formerly Bundle Monster) + paulinaspassions BM-XL216 Stamping Plate and for my two middle fingers, I used the Born Pretty Store Floral BP-X44 Stamping Plate

And of course, I finished with a generously floated coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat and voila!
