MANI MONDAY: Neon Gradient Mandala Nails

by - June 10, 2019

Hey guys! When I was planning this week's #CBBxManiMonday post, I had something else entirely in mind, but the weekend got the best of me and I had to keep it simple - luckily, I'm pretty thrilled with what keeping it simple resulted in. I've definitely fallen back in love with gradients and I absolutely love the way that Color Club neon polishes blend for a gradient, so I of course reached for them again as we continue with the Brights theme.

Keep reading for a closer look and to see how I got this look!

One of my all time favorite gradients is a coral to violet one, so even though I tried to resist, it's what I ended up with. I started with a coat of Color Club You Had Me At Aloha as my base and let that dry completely. After applying cuticle barrier, I went in with a makeup sponge and applied a gradient of Color Club You Had Me Aloha, Beach Please, Warhol, and Disco Dress. With these polishes, it took 3 passes of the gradient to get to the opacity and blend that I was happy with - which is a lot faster than it sounds, for those who've never tried a gradient this way. To smooth out my gradient and add some really beautiful shine, I then applied a fairly generous coat of Glam Polish Anuenue.

For the stamping, I really wanted to keep it simple and I had the new-to-me Born Pretty Store BP-181 Stamping Plate still in its plastic and everything, so I decided it was exactly what I wanted. I, of course, reached for my Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish and a clear stamper. I alternated between two different parts of the plate on my nails, creating images that are very, very similar but with enough differences for interest.

As usual, I finished with a coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat and voila!

Recently, thanks to sets I've been finding at Winners, I've built up quite the little collection of Color Club neons... and I suspect that I'll be reaching for them a lot this summer. They have such beautiful shades and they perform really, really well for nail art as well as just alone on my toes.

Don't forget to head over to Cosmetic Proof, See The World In PINK, and Tea & Nail Polish today to check out their bright nail art for #CBBxManiMonday!

Thanks for reading!
