INDIE POLISH | NailStuff.ca Exclusive Cadillacquer Duo!

by - October 01, 2020

Hey guys! I'm SO super excited for today's post because I've been keeping these two polishes secret for a few weeks now and I finally get to share them. If you read this blog, you know that I love working with NailStuff.ca and I absolutely love the brands that they carry for us Canadian polish lovers. One of the brands that has been an absolute favorite of mine has been Cadillacquer, so when I found out that they were doing an exclusive duo together, I couldn't wait to see it. I might also have gotten a little clue that the polishes were going to be right up my alley, so I couldn't wait to see them, and as soon as I opened the boxes I fell completely in love (and within minutes had applied one of them to my thumb nail to test it out.

Keep reading to check out the polishes!

One thing that never fails to impress me about Cadillacquer polishes is that they always feel very much unto themselves. What I mean by this is that the pairings of base shades with the shimmers, glitters, and flakies that really make the formulas pop are both really thoughtful, but also really, really unique. In my collection, there's never anything else like my Cadillacquer polishes. I've also found that even though they're super unique, I always find ways to use them in nail art that work really well, which isn't always true for some of the more unique indie polishes that I've tried.

Inspired by a misty forest scene, this duo contains a smoky blue shade and a rich forest green, both of which are really perfect for muted, sophisticated fall manis. As I've come to expect from Cadillacquer, these polishes contain added glitters and flakes that take them from being really pretty base shades to really unqiue polishes that stand out within my collection.

** All swatches are 2 coats + glossy top coat.

Cadillacquer - Enchanted Woodland*
NailStuff.ca Exclusive
If ever there was a polish that was 100% up my alley and could unseat Summer Rain as my favorite Cadillacquer polish, it has to be this one. It's a rich forest green shade that feels to me like it has those more yellow undertones, though it might be best described as neutral, and it's just packed with these gorgeous copper to green shifty flakes that give it a lot of texture and depth. I always find this type of shade to brings a modern sophistication, and with the added flakes in this one it adds a little bit of fun without being over the top.

They recommend 2-3 coats of this polish for full opacity and I definitely got away with just two for a really full coverage mani. On the first coat, it was definitely a little bit streaky and sheer in spots, but on that second coat I got really easy full coverage. I also found that the flakes are well distributed in the formula and easy to get an even application of over the nail. Though this does dry down smooth, I would recommend a top coat to really add shine and help to pop those flakies in the formula. Overall, this is a stunner and completely lived up to the heart eyes that I had when I saw it in the bottle - couldn't stop staring at my nails.

Cadillacquer - Mystical Fog*
NailStuff.ca Exclusive
I have to admit, when I first saw this in the bottle I wasn't expecting to love this polish or find it quite as unique as I do. I think this is a shade that really walks that line between blue and grey so perfectly that it's hard to decide which to call it, so I've been calling it a smoky blue in my head. What really makes it stand out for me is the assortment of matte navy blue and shifting metallic glitters in various sizes that are really packed into crelly base. It ends up giving a speckled look to the end result that has a lot of depth and interest while still maintaining an overall subtlety. Like Enchanted Forest, I think this polish walks that line between sophisticated while still being fun in a really interesting way.

They also recommend 2-3 shades for this polish and while I would say that you could easily get full opacity in 2 coats, and I did for these swatch photos,  I would actually go for 3 thinner coats in order to get that real depth and dimension that you can only get from this kind of crelly formula. I found the application of this to be really, really easy with this polish and it just takes an extra stroke to make sure that you get even coverage of the glitters. This definitely does dry down with some texture from those glitters and you're probably going to want to add an extra coat of top coat to get a really smooth finish on the nail - but it's really, really worth it for how gorgeous this polish looks.

Honestly, I don't think I could possibly be more in love with the colours that they chose for this duo. They definitely evoke that feeling of a misty, foggy forest scene and both polishes manage to be sophisticated with an edge of fun to them. I don't think anyone who knows my taste in polish will be surprised that Enchanted Forest is my absolute favorite in this duo (and, again, might even take over Summer Rain as my favorite Cadillacquer shade) but Mystical Fog really does score right up there for me as well. I definitely think both are very much worth taking a look at.

Like I said, these polishes are both exclusive to NailStuff.ca and will be available for purchase Saturday October 3, 2020 at Noon EST! If you're interested in picking them up, you can feel free to use my affiliate code TRYSH for 10% off your order!
