12 NAILS OF HALLOWEEN | Green Holo Gradient Haunted House Nail Art

by - October 26, 2020

I can not believe that it's almost Halloween - we're in the last week, which makes this my last Halloween themed #CBBxManiMonday! This month has seriously flown by - and I can't believe I've only got a couple more Halloween mani's to share with you guys after this one! I am, however, really, really excited to share this one because it gives me serious heart eyes. This design is a classic at this point - graveyard and haunted house and spooky spooky silhouettes, but there are so many variations that it can take on and for this one... I went holo to the moon!

The Color Club Halo Jewels Collection has been super, super inspiring for me to create nail art, and one of the ideas that came to me immediately was to build a gradient using the two shades in the collection with a couple of other Color Club holo polishes in my collection. I started with a base of Color Club Finger's Crossed on all my nails - I thought about doing this on a black base, but decided that these holos are opaque enough for it to be unnecessary. For the gradient, I used Fingers Crossed, Diamon In The Rough, Rock On, and Beyond and I love the way it transitioned.

For the stamping, I mostly used the Nicole Diary L12 Stamping Plate, but for my middle finger I also used What's Up Nails A012 Happy Halloween because I wanted to use the moon and bats images from that plate. The star of the stamping in this mani, though, is the Haunted House image, which I reverse stamped using white to fill in the windows and an olive leaning grey for the driveway. I didn't want the reverse stamping to be too stark against the holo background, but I did want to go with créme polishes so that it didn't end up getting muddy and lost.

I finished by first sealing in my stamping with a water based top coat and then I finished with a generous coat of quick dry glossy top coat and voila!

I don't do a lot of holo gradients... but every time I do one I always find myself wondering why I don't do more - anyone else? I love this this turned out, I love the glow the holo gives and the way it pops the silhouette stamping. Just love it so much - super happy with how it turned out.

Be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof and See The World In PINK to check out their Halloween themed nails this week. And come back later this week for the rest of my #12NailsOfHalloween - only two more mani's to go!
