Hey guys! I have to admit, I've gotten to the point in this marathon of nail art where I'm running out of things to say and ways to talk about the mani's that I'm doing. There is a wall and I am definitely hitting it at this point, but I'm so close to the finish line and I'm so, so excited to have this massive collection of 2020 holiday nail art to look back on. I mean... honestly, the driving force behind this project for me is the being locked down at home and the sadness about not getting to see my family for Christmas, but I think I'll still look back on it fondly. 

Anyway, keep reading to take a look at how I put together this simple stamped mani!

Every Christmas I end up pulling out all of the green polishes from my collection - and there are A LOT - because it's one of the best times of year to put them to use. One of my favorites in my collection is Sinful Colors I Pine For You, which I believe is from a holiday collection for 4 years ago that I happened to get my hands on. It's such a gorgeous cool toned green polish with a really strong shimmer that has a great texture to it, which I think you can really see in the macro down below. I wanted to add even more texture though, so I grabbed for some chameleon flakies and added a scattered layer of them over two coats of the base using my clear stamper. 

For the stamping for this mani, I really wanted to use this sort of... dangling snowflake image from Beauty Big Bang XL-093, which I picked up last year but didn't get a lot of use out of because the full cover images are too small for my nails. Anyway, initially, because this image is so large I was actually going to apply it to all of my nails, but as I was doing the mani I changed my mind and decided to add the Best Wishes image to my middle finger because I really felt like it would go well with this mani.

Once I was happy with the stamping, I applied a layer of water based top coat to seal it in and then went in with a quick dry matte top coat to take down the shine and really draw attention to the texture of that base and those chameleon flakes. And voila!

I have to admit, I'm having a bit of a moment with text stamping right now. It's never really been my thing and I've never really been able to make it work, but now I find myself scoping out all of these stamping plates with text on them with new eyes... keep an eye out in 2020 for some fun text stamping!
