CHRISTMAS NAIL ART: Cool Blue Snowy Christmas Nails
When it comes to the colors that I personally associate with the holiday season, one of my personal favorites is blue, so there was of course going to be a healthy dose of blue popping up in my holiday nails this year. That's actually what inspired me to buy the polish that I used as the base color for this mani. By which I clearly mean... that was the excuse I used to justify the purchase. I mean... can you blame me? Anyway, I decided to keep it simple and snowy with this one.

Described as a muted midnight blue, ILNP's Better Days contains an absolutely gorgeous pairing of holo microflakes with gold microflakes to create a really beautiful, subtle texture that packs a really lovely punch. In the context of this mani, the density and irregularity of those flakes really helps to create a sort of nighttime blizzard effect on the nails, which I think is perfect for this season and design. Honestly, I wish the photos were doing justice to this polish, because in person it's just a stunner... but softly. Know what I mean?
For the base for this mani, I applied two coats of Better Days to all of my nails and let them dry down completely.
Because I really wanted to lean into the snowstorm sort of vibe of the base polish and even amp it up, I started by applying a full coverage spotted snowfall image to all of my nails in a really pale, slightly ashy pastel blue polish. The stamping plate I used for this mani has a lot of images with this small dotted motif and I felt pretty confident that they would work really well with this base overall. For my pinkie and thumb, I applied a snowflake image that... admittedly kind of got lost in the sauce, but does add a little bit of texture there. For the ring finger, I went with this present image, for the middle finger I went with this ornament dissolving into evergreens image, and finally for my first finger I applied this small spotted bow image.
Once I was finished with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a generous layer of quick dry glossy top coat and voila!

I really love how the simple pairing of this sort of denim blue with the crisp white stamping turned out for this mani. It's a little bit simple and a little bit soft, but still packs some impact overall. I love that! I must say I also really love the spottiness of these stamping images because it takes what is a really simple image and makes it unique and unto itself, while also giving it a texture that meshes well with a sparkly base. Love!
