I was in a bit of a mood when I sat down to do today's mani, but what better way to clear up the gloom than to put together some super bright, fun summer nails? I decided to just go all in with neon base polishes and some layered stamping from a Clear Jelly Stamper plate that I'd had my eye on for quite a while and finally snagged from a friend of mine who was destashing a lot of her plates.

Initially, I had planned on doing just the blue base, since that's such a classic look with the pineapples, but it just felt a little bit boring to me - and also something I've done before - so I grabbed for a super bold neon pink that I'm not even sure is showing up as bold and impactful in the photos as it does in person. I alternated the pink and blue colors and applied two coats of each to my nails.

For the stamping, I started by applying the diamond spotted full cover image from the plate. I feel like this both adds subtle visual interest to the design, but it also really pulls everything together. For the pineapples, I decided to place one at the center of my nail (ring finger) and then place the rest sort of popping in from the corners. I started by applying the main body of the pineapple in white and then followed by stamping it again in yellow to really make that body pop. Next, I did the green leaves at the top, then the main outline in black and finally the texture over the yellow also in black.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

Honestly, I've always been pretty intimidated by layered stamping because I'm such a perfectionist, but even though this isn't perfect I find myself pretty in love with it. Also, it was just SO FAST. Honestly, I think I'm going to have to play around with some more layered stamping!
