WELL, here we are.... Christmas Eve! Since this is the last offering I have for this year's Christmas Nail Art marathon, I wanted to do two very specific things. First - I wanted to keep it super solidly Christmasy in both design and color. And second - since it's Christmas Eve and you're maybe looking for a little inspiration for a quick design to throw on for your holiday celebrations - I wanted to keep it really simple. So I grabbed a stunning red base, some white stamping polish, and a single stamping plate and just went crisp and clean!

Ever since I started doing Christmas nail art, back when I was just getting into nails and really had no idea what I was doing, I've loved sweater nails and I've done at least one or two versions of them every single year. This year, I will admit that the two I've done are a little bit more samey than I maybe intended, but I've found my favorite Fair Isle sweater style stamping image and nothing compares so it's the one I reach for. For today's mani, I changed it up a little bit from the Monochrome Green Fair Isle Sweater Nails from a couple of weeks ago, and I love love love how it turned out.

I will fully admit that a lot of my holiday nail art designs lean on snowflakes, but I honestly feel like snowflakes are one of the most versatile design elements for this time of year and I have no shame in finding as many different ways to use them as possible. For today's mani, I knew I wanted to do a rich plaid design and then add some contrast with white Christmasy stamping on top... and, of course, the best white wintery stamping in my opinion is definitely snowflakes, which I think really shine on top of this base.

I've noticed a bit of a weird thing that my brain does as I've been going through this marathon of Christmas nail art. It's really not surprising, I'm pretty neurodivergent and my brain works in a pretty specific ways, but it hadn't really occurred to me. Logically I know that I like doing reverse stamped nail designs and they're always worth the work, but I tend to talk myself out of them and convince myself that they're hard and way too much work and overwhelming. I had to push through that for the Cute & Cozy Hot Cocoa & Coffee Nails that I posted earlier this month using this same stamping plate and I had to do it again for this one - and it was so very much worth it both times!

I have to say, I'm so swooningly in love with today's mani that I'm thrilled to have it be my last #CBBxManiMonday of the holiday season. Like a lot of what I've shared over the course of this month, it isn't necessarily on-the-nose with the Christmasiness, but I do think it definitely brings the vibes. When it comes to looking for inspiration for nail art, especially in a situation like this of 24 themed mani's all in a row, I spend a lot of time looking at the gorgeous work that professional nail techs do. Because I work generally with traditional nail polish, a lot of the things that the pro's are doing with gel and acrylic are just not things that I can recreate, but I can definitely take inspiration. One thing that I love that I see from professionals a lot is when every nail is different but there's an overall cohesive vibe that makes the whole thing work. Today's many is definitely drawing on that inspiration within my own sort of personal style and vibe.

If there's one nail design that I think can scream Christmas or just the holiday season in general without having to be too on the nose with holiday specific elements, it's a red, black and gold plaid mani. I always tend to do some kind of plaid nails at this time of year and the past three years they've been pretty samey so I decided this year that I needed to try something a little bit different. I mean... still plaid and still holiday, but just... different. What more can I say about this pretty simple mani? I mean, I bunch but let's move on to how I did it.

I tried not to do today's mani... I really, really did, but in the end I couldn't seem to help myself so I made a few adjustments so that it wasn't a bang on repeat of last year's Black & White Holo Snowflake French Mani. I mean, it still pretty much is pretty much the same, but I feel like this design has sort of become a signature for me at this point so I don't mind recreating it with slight tweaks every so often. Also, I will admit, it's pretty much always a crowd pleaser. So without further ado...

When doing a marathon of 24 nail art designs in one theme, I will fully admit that there can be some creative fatigue that comes with it. When that happens, I generally have two options. The first is to push through and just try things until something sticks. Unfortunately, this is a really frustrating option and sees failure much more often than it sees success. The second option is to try something that feels sort of outside of the theme. This is how you end up with pastels at Halloween, I'd say, and in the entirely opposite direction - vampy Christmas nails, which is what I have for you today!

I really, really wanted to do gingerbread nails again last year after how much I loved the ones I did last year, but I really wanted to do a design that would stand completely apart from that one also - so I decided to go super cute. I mean... obviously gingerbread men are super cute to begin with, but the Maniology Kawaii Christmas plates take that cuteness to a whole other level, I'd say, and I just fully went all in with it. I mean... I feel like you really sort of have to!

The more I think about it, the more I really realize that the holiday season basically has only two moods for me. Well, I guess that's not entirely true, but I would rather not focus on the stressful mood and instead focus on the good ones. The two dominant holiday season moods for me are festive, obviously, and cozy, which is my personal favorite. Curled up with the Christmas tree lit up, a hot egg nog chai, and a fun Christmas movie on the TV - like Die Hard, fight me! - is my favorite place to be at this time of year. All of that to say that today's mani is inspired by being curled up by the fire, cozy in a Christmas sweater, surrounded by holiday vibes.

Full disclosure, I do not post my holiday mani's in the order that I did them because I try to curate the feed a little bit more than that for an overall flow that my all-over-the-place brain doesn't reflect at all. Why I am telling you this? Well, this was the fifth mani that I did for this marathon of nail art and it was the first one that used sort of traditional holiday colors - and very specifically because I felt like I needed some red and green to get me fully into the holiday mood. I didn't really have a clear plan going in, but as soon as the red and green were on my nails I knew it was going to be very on the nose with the Christmas theme.

I have to admit, today's mani was the result of an intense lack of inspiration paired with some serious struggle to get to a finished product I was happy with. Occasionally when I sit down to do my nails it'll end up being a situation where every single thing is a struggle and this was definitely one of those times. I was determined though. I had a sort of loose idea of what I wanted when I started, but I couldn't actually tell you how I got from there to where I ended up. I will fully admit to having prepared really, really far in advance for holiday nail art this year. Over probably the past six months, I've been collecting nail polishes and stamping plates that I knew I was going bust out this holiday season. One of the products that I picked up is the base polish for today's mani - and it's a STUNNER - but I couldn't for the life of me actually figure out what to do with it once I sat down to do holiday nails. One of my personal favorite designs, though, is classic Fair Isle sweater nails so I just leaned into it and created a simple, straightforward mani with a truly, truly gorgeous base.

I find that when I'm thinking about holiday themed nail art, there's definitely a tendency to think inside a very small box when it comes to colour choices. Clearly there are probably a handful of colours that we all tend to associate with Christmas - Red, Green, Blue, Silver and Gold (and, I guess, white, if that counts...) and it can be really easy to live inside that box for themed nails. However, when you're doing 24 different nail art designs in a row, there's a distinct need to escape that box - at least for me. Enter: NEON! Now, as I sat down to do this mani, I really did question whether I might be an insane person for thinking it was a good idea, but I just went for it and now I'm basically OBSESSED with this design.

Last year, I accidentally stumbled on to what has become a sort of signature design for me when I did these Black & White Holo Snowflake French Nails. Since then, I've done several versions of this mani for various themes and occasions, but they continue to be one of my all time favorite nail art designs I've ever done. This year, the urge to create them exactly as I did them last year was strong, but I managed to resist and put together something that starts out the exact same but moves in a different direction. I mean, it's sort of a perfect canvas for all kinds of looks, so I definitely don't mind leaning into that.

When it comes to the colors that I personally associate with the holiday season, one of my personal favorites is blue, so there was of course going to be a healthy dose of blue popping up in my holiday nails this year. That's actually what inspired me to buy the polish that I used as the base color for this mani. By which I clearly mean... that was the excuse I used to justify the purchase. For today's mani I just really, really wanted to go all in with the full on red and green glittery vibes. I mean... it's the holidays and as much as I'm not a full on glitz all the time type of a girl, this is definitely the time to just go for it. When I sat down to do this mani I actually had a completely different idea in my head and the only part of my plan that actually made it to the finished product is the polishes that I used. But hoooo buddy, they are stunning, stunning, amazing polishes that feel to me like they were made to shine at Christmastime.

I will admit that some of the nail art designs I've done and will be doing for this marathon of Christmas nail art are much more laborious than others and sometimes you really can't tell by looking at them which are which. For today's Christmas nail art design, I feel like it might look like one of the ones that took more time and effort, but the truth is that it came together so smoothly and easily that I actually surprised myself in the process. As time goes on, I don't find myself reaching for the older stamping plates in my collection as much as I used to - if at all - but there are a few plates that have specific images that I just absolutely love and will always reach for. The BeautyBigBang XL-030 Stamping Plate has, in my opinion, and absolutely perfect stamping image on it and it's one that I know I could probably use every single year and never repeat the same mani twice, if that makes any sense. Today's mani utilizes that stamping image along with one of my personal favorite techniques for creating a beautiful base to pair with simple stamping.
