I have to admit, it's been a while since I've tried a new matte liquid lipstick formula. I feel like a few years ago I was greedy to get my hands on every formula, but lately I've really been trying to reign myself in. However, I recently tried out a few of the Avon Matteitute Liquid Lipsticks* and it's sort of reminded me exactly why I loved matte liquid lipsticks so much.

When I sat down to put together my favorite lip products for fall, it was actually a really, really difficult process. I absolutely love fall lip colours and I could have gone absolutely mad with power. However, I was really determined to narrow it down so I literally grabbed the five products that I've actually been wearing the most for the last month as my fall makeup has really taken over. Admittedly, there are so many honorable mentions in this category that I could go on forever because fall is only second to the holiday season when it comes to loving lipstick for me. So is this an accurate representation of my absolute favorite fall lip colours? Maybe not. But it's definitely an accurate representation of my most reached for lip colours of the moment!

Admittedly, I haven't been reaching for matte liquid lipsticks as much as I used to - which I suspect is true for a lot of people - so I didn't initially pick up any of the new Physicians Formula The Healthy Lip Velvet Finish Lip Color. What changed my mind was hearing some really incredible things about the formula and reminding myself just how good the drugstore has been with liquid lipstick releases in the past year or so. Also, with summer coming up, I knew that I would be reaching for these types of formulas more as the climate allows me to be a little less careful with keeping my lips hydrated. I know that you didn't need my whole thought process, but I figured I would clue you in anyway.

Ahhh lip products! When I sat down to really hash out what my favorite lip products of 2017 were, it was a bit of a process. Did I want to choose my most reached for, the formulas that impressed me most, or just go with my gut? Ultimately, I kind of did a mixture of all three of those things. My lip collection is pretty big and there are a lot of products that I really love. Ultimately, though, once I had assembled my favorites there was no question that these five products were the ones that really stood out for me the most in the past year. They were constantly reached for and loved products that I have little complaint about.

So without further adieu, let's get to the products!

For me, matte liquid lipsticks have lost a little bit of the draw that they had when they were first hitting the market. I'm not out there trying to get my hands on every different formula like I used to be. However, one thing that I've noticed with the new lines that have been coming out recently is that the formulas continue to get better and better. Considering how in love I fell with the Matte Revolution Lipsticks*, you can bet that my excitement was next level for the brand spankin' new release of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick*. I mean... obviously, right?

I think I'm going to have to be a little more diligent about keeping track of the products that I'm trying out each month, because I always seem to end up missing at least one product from the post. I will, however, include anything I miss in next month's post because I think these mini-reviews can be helpful. This month is pretty lip product heavy, which is really no surprise for anyone who knows my downright obsession with lippies. I also have some face products, an eye liner, and a fragrance.

So, if you want to check out what I've been trying this month, keep reading!

So, even though I wouldn't exactly call myself a Katy Perry fan - not that I dislike her, I just really feel neither here nor there about her in general - I was pretty excited for the release of her new COVERGIRL collaboration, the Kitty Kat Matte lipsticks. I actually really love the shade selection in the line, which includes all of the usual wearable shades as well as the fun brights and deep vampy shades that you would expect from a collab with Ms. Perry. It would have been reason easy to go a little bit mad with power and pick up several shades, but I decided to hold off and see how I liked the formula before I went all in. I'm trying this thing where I don't go mad with excitement before I know if I like something! Anyway, I chose a shade I knew I'd wear, a simple pinky nude called Sphynx.

So basically at this point I'm just determined to try out every matte liquid lipstick on the market, clearly. I love matte lips and I love a lip product that will hang around on my lips for several hours. Since I tend to press my lips together constantly whenever I have product on and that means most traditional lipsticks are gone within an hour or two. Anyway, as we all know by now, not all liquid lipsticks are created equal, so it's always with cautious optimism that I try out a new one. As soon as the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquefied Lipsticks were announced, I absolutely knew I was going to be picking up at least one of them. As is usual for me, I figured I'd go for the shade Queen B, which is the cool toned mauve nude of the bunch. However, since all of the nudes were sold out when I popped into Sephora, I decided it was time for me to get a good red and this one in the shade Lady Balls (HOW AMAZING IS THAT NAME THOUGH?) is a beautiful shade, so I grabbed it!

If I were to name the top drugstore makeup trends for spring 2015, it would probably be a tie for the top spot between liquid lipsticks and contour products. I swear, they're blowing up and every brand seems to be releasing their own version. Because I'm vaguely obsessed with drugstore lip products, I've been grabbing them like crazy whenever I see them. This is why, of course, I couldn't resist picking up the Hard Candy Velvet Matte Mousse Lip Color in Cherry Blossom as soon as I saw it at Walmart. And by as soon as I saw it, I mean that I saw the box full of the new Hard Candy products waiting to be unpacked and I rummaged through it like a fiend. Is that bad? Anyway, I've been trying this out and I'm definitely ready to let you know what I think of it.

Recently, I was lucky enough to win some of the new products from Wet N Wild and I pretty much lost my mind. As affordable brands go, Wet N Wild is one of my absolute favorites because I always feel like they can be counted on to bring gorgeous pigmentation and texture to their powder products at an amazing price. For me, it can actually be a little bit hard to get my hands on Wet N Wild products (which will make the brand pretty high on my shopping list when I head to the States this summer for holiday, since it's so accessible there) so I was really excited to get to try all of these out and I'm definitely excited to give you guys my thoughts on them!

There's a pretty wide selection of products here, so keep reading for my first impressions on all of them!

So clearly, when I first heard about NYX releasing these liquid lipsticks in a range of nude and neutral shades, I was over the moon with excitement. I mean, wasn't everyone? Matte, nude lips have been going strong for the past year and it was a pretty brilliant move on NYX's part to do a whole collection of them with a nude lip for everyone. That really is the great thing about this collection, because there's a wide range of shades in varying depths with varying undertones. I've seen some reviews that have compared them to the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, which excited me as well since that's one of my favorite formulas! I decided to restrain myself and pick up 2 shades. I chose Push Up because it seemed like it would be a good, true nude shade for my skintone, and I went with Embellishment because... well, how can I be expected to resist a mauve lip shade?

Anyway, keep reading to take a closer look at the shades I chose and find out what I think about them!

Spring 2016 has definitely been the season of new drugstore matte liquid lipstick formulas, and I feel like I've been eating them up! Of course, if you read this blog you'll already know that I'm a huge fan of liquid to matte lipsticks and have been going hard on the trend for the past year, so I was thrilled to see so many brands bringing affordable, accessible options to the table. So, how does this one stack up? I have some pros and I have some cons about this product, so keep reading to take a look!

It's time for another eBay finds! It's been a while because the last post I had planned was derailed when the product arrived smashed. Like. SMASHED. I was pretty bummed about it, because I feel like I likely would have actually enjoyed the product - so there's a possibility I will try to order again from a different seller and feature it here sometime in the future. I decided to order these liquid lipsticks from IMAGIC because I've featured the other two prominent eBay liquid lipsticks and it felt only right that I feature these ones as well. These are definitely the newest edition to the ever growing market of Chinese-made eBay brand liquid lipsticks and I was hoping that they would improve on some of the things lacking in the MeNow Liquid Lipsticks and the QiBest Liquid Lipsticks - both of which had significant issues for me. As always, I chose 3 shades to get a feel for the line overall - a nude, a midtoned rosy shade, and a deep burgundy shade. None of the shades looked like their online photos when I received them, but I suppose that's the risk you run on eBay!

How do they stack up? Are they a great deal or still a waste of money even though they're under $4 a piece? Keep reading to find out!

Lip products are probably my favorites to buy, I have to admit. In 2015, I shifted into a pretty intense love affair with matte liquid lipsticks - as did everyone else, it seems - and completely stopped trying to love lip gloss, which will just never be my thing.  I feel like I try more lip products than any other makeup product and I genuinely get excited whenever there are new lip products on the market. Four out of my five 2015 lip favorites are new discoveries this year, and one is basically a forever favorite that will never die.

Anyway, enough with the rambling, let's get onto the favorites. Keep reading to take a closer look!

Time for another eBay Finds post here on the blog! This one is coming a little earlier than I intended, because the seller that I picked these up from had the fastest free shipping from Asia that I've ever had - which is a massive win for me. I was really anxious to try these out and see how they measure up to some of the other matte chubby pencils that I have in my collection, like the Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayons that I previously reviewed on the blog. I originally picked up 3 shades, but decided after a few days to grab a couple more. Based on the 5 that I have, I can say that they're definitely not all created equal and some shades perform significantly better than others.

Anyway, without further adieu, keep reading for my thoughts and whether I think these are worth the purchase.

Quite some time ago now, I reviewed $1 matte liquid lipsticks that I got on eBay and when I reviewed them, I felt a lot more positive about them than I do after having worn them a few more times. They are so sticky that I have trouble wearing them. You can powder them down so that they're more comfortable, but I just don't find myself reaching for them because they're a pain in the ass. So, of course, when I saw a new set of matte liquid lipsticks on eBay for under US$1.50, I decided to give them a go and crossed my fingers that they weren't going to have the same sticky problem.

In this edition of eBay Finds, let's talk about the QiBest Lip Series Long Lasting Lip Glosses... which really aren't glosses at all! Keep reading for more!

So... The thing is, when I was a kid Jem was EVERYTHING. I wanted to BE Jem... and frequently pretended that was the case. A couple of years ago, I got my hands on the whole series and decided to rewatch from the beginning. I was kinda struck by how completely psycho it was - what, with all the actual murder attempts that The Misfits perpetuated against The Holograms, but it was still a great nostalgia watch. Now, I am completely grossed out by the trailer for the movie and how they modernized it to basically be Hannah Montana meets Josie And The Pussy Cats (2001) but with pink eyeliner, so we're just going to ignore the fact that the movie even exists, mmk? Let's all get excited about the fact that the gross movie means a Jem collection from Sephora! As soon as I saw the promo pictures, which you can see in my blog post here, I absolutely had to have this liquid lipstick set - and I proceeded to stalk the Sephora website until my local store had it in stock and had it in my hands within a couple of hours. Yes, the need was real. Anyway.... How did it live up to what I was hoping for?

I really do love when Hard Candy comes out with new products, because there's always something I want to try, and even though I wasn't planning on picking up any makeup on this particular trip to Walmart I had to buy this as soon as I saw it. In truth, I actually picked up every shade but I managed to restrict myself to just one so that I could get a feel for the formula. If you haven't checked out what's new from Hard Candy in the past month, I highly recommend a trip to Walmart to check out the display. Also, there have been some great blog posts from other bloggers about some of the new products recently, so a little Googling could be in order. Anyway, on to the review of this particular product, shall we?

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm on the hunt for a specific type of makeup product, I'm always looking for "the perfect ______". For some time now, I've been looking for the perfect mauve liquid lipstick. Obviously liquid to matte lipsticks have been one of the most recent crazes as far as makeup trends are concerned, and I've found that it's really difficult for me to find a formula that I love in a shade that suits me perfectly. It was after seeing reviews and swatches online of the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve that I decided to head down and pick it up to give it a try. I was pretty optimistic about it after hearing so many good things, but that doesn't always guarantee that I'm going to love the product.

I was recently contacted by BornPrettyStore and asked if I'd like to choose a couple of products to review here on the blog. BornPrettyStore has been on my radar for a while, ever since a couple of years ago when I was dabbling in an obsession in nail art. I say dabbling because I never actually got good at it, but I really wanted to. Anyway, they carry a wide selection of different things, from anything you could possibly need for nail art, to makeup and beauty tools, to jewelry and phone cases and all kinds of little gadgets. Honestly, there's a lot of stuff that I want to order from the site just for novelty sake and to see how they work, but for the purposes of this blog I chose a couple of makeup items to review and I'm ready to give my thoughts on the first one now.

Keep reading for a closer look.
