REVIEW: Makeup Revolution The One Fluid Blusher in Pink Sea

by - April 23, 2015

Seriously, you guys, I'm having a blush obsession at the moment. I think it must be something to do with spring, but I seriously want all of the blushes to be in my collection so that I can spend even more time each morning deciding which shade and finish and formula are absolutely perfect for each look. You can tell you're a beauty junkie when...? I think so. Anyway, I love venturing away from the traditional powder blushes and trying other things, so when I was making my Makeup Revolution order, you know that this had to end up in my cart. If you're familiar with the Daniel Sandler Watercolor Blushes, this format will look very much like a dupe to you. I have to say, I don't have any of the Watercolor Blushes, so I can't speak to the dupability. Still, I've been trying this out for a couple of weeks now and I can definitely give you my thoughts...

These blushes are available in 5 shades, but this pink shade was really the one that jumped out at me. On my pale skin, I felt like this would give me a really pretty flush. There is one shade paler than this, two deeper, and on that leans distinctly bronzey.

I have to tell you guys, when I first got this I couldn't stop holding the little bottle and shaking it. I don't know what it is about this soft plastic bottle and the sound of the little balls that are hiding in the blush, but I just want to hold it in my hands. I also find this packaging to be very, very convenient. You can pretty easily control how much product you're dispensing, whether it be onto the back of your hand or onto a makeup artist palette. It's also quite small and easily stored.

The formula of this fluid blusher is very, very thin and runny, but I don't find it difficult to apply at all. I've tried it both with a stippling brush and just by tapping my fingers and it applies fairly easily both ways. My preference is the brush, simply because it blends it really seamlessly without any work.

This shade is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Initally it can be a little scary because it really does look like a straight up bubblegum pink that could easily harken to the harsh pink blush trends of the 80s, but it blends to a beautiful flush on the skin.

Wear time is really good with this product as well. I've tried it on its own and topped with a powder blush and it actually lasts pretty well both ways, but I got a solid 12 hours out of this baby when I topped it with a little bit of powder blush.

Overall, I'm really happy with this product and am thinking about picking up a couple more shades while they still have them. Yes, you read correctly... They're blowing these out at 50% off in their Last Chance To Buy section at the moment, so if you've been thinking about picking these up now is your last chance! Hurry!
