REVIEW: C. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Bath & Body Wash

by - May 27, 2015

I have a thing for nutty scented bath & body products, I must admit. Sometimes in the summer I'll meander over to fresher or more tropical scents that suit the mood of the season, but for most of the year I love rich, warm, nutty scents in my body care. My obsession with all things almond scented is really no secret on this blog, is it? Anyway, when I was wandering through Walmart recently, I saw that they were now carrying c. Booth products and couldn't resist picking up a couple to try. In the US, I know this line is available at Ulta and perhaps some other places, but I've never seen it in Canada. The first product I'm going to review here is the Honey Almond Nourishing Bath & Body Wash, because... Ahem, almond? No regrets.

Transform every shower into a sweet retreat! Nourish skin naturally with the conditioning power of Honey, rare in its ability to absorb impurities and re-hydrate dry skin. Nutrient-rich lather is loaded with antioxidants for all-over skin rejuvenation, making this sweet ingredient the perfect shower companion for every day skin renewal.

This product is packaged very simply, which I like because it lends itself well to the theme of the product. It feels like a product that isn't going to contain any big bads - and this product does not contain Parabens, Sulfates, Mineral Oil or Petroleum, which is never a bad thing.

I've used this both as a body wash and as a bubble bath, with pretty good results both ways. As a body wash, I find that it gives a really good lather and gets my skin really clean without drying me out at all or leaving me feeling like I need to instantly moisturize the crap out of my skin when I get out of the shower. Always a good thing, right? As a bubble bath, I actually really, really like it. It foams up well and I found that the bubbles lasted fairly well in the water, better than a lot of cheap bubble bath products I've tried in the past.

You know we're gonna talk about the fragrance, because for me that's a huge part of bath & body products. This fragrance is absolutely gorgeous. It's not too much of either almond or honey, but really a good blend of the two to make a really beautiful scent that's a little bit nutty and a little bit sweet. I find it to be pretty decidedly feminine, myself, and I don't think my boyfriend would particularly love slathering himself in this fragrance. One thing I will say, which will either be a plus or a minus depending on the person, is that this wasn't an enduring smell. It was very evident when I was using the product, both as a body wash and a bubble bath, but it didn't linger on my skin after I dried myself off and didn't interfere with the scents in my perfumes or lotions. Like I said, that's really a matter of preference.

Overall, I think this is a solid product, affordable, free of 4 of the big bad ingredients that a lot of us are avoiding, and smells really good to boot! Worth a shot, I'd say!
