REVIEW: Amopé Pedi Perfect*

You guys have seen the commercials, right? I swear, after having tried everything to try and keep my feet looking like they did when I was a little kid, I've been on the hunt for something new. The last time I had a pedicure was over a year ago - and the experience was so absolutely awful that it has put me off them for a while. I know, I know... Pedicures can be amazing if the person doing it cares enough not to mangle your feet, but I'm easily turned off of things when I have a bad experience. That's why I'm a bathroom-self-pedicurist these days. I've tried the callous shavers, I love my Mr. Pumice for quick brushes of my feet in the shower, and I've even tried the dreaded cheese grater for the feet (which I DO NOT recommend because it can take healthy skin with it and leave your feet a mangled mess!) Overall, I just tend to find these sorts of things to be a lot of work, for not enough pay off and I wanted something that was a little easier and more effective. Anyway, I feel like I'd tried it all without any overwhelming success... until now. This new breed of at home foot care devices is something different and exciting, that's for sure! But how does it work???

The first thing I want to talk about is the design of this product. First of all, I love the colours that they chose for the unit. The vibrant blue and clean white gives it a sleek, attractive look. The handle has an almost rubbery texture, which I find aids in comfort and control. I also love the shape of it, because it's got a great feel in the hand. I find it really easy to hold onto and move around to reach all of the contours of my feet. It features a very simple switch on the top of the handle, which you simply twist to turn the unit on or off, which I find keeps the Pedi Perfect uncomplicated and easy to use.
But really... What about how it works?
You guys... This product is so great! Admittedly, my feet have been a mess recently. Last winter was particularly hard on my feet and left them feeling dry and cracked moving into flip flop season, which always tends to require a little more foot care than usual. Honestly, my feet were not looking or feeling cute and I tended to hide them in the bed so that they wouldn't brush against my boyfriend. I know, right?
I like to use this before I get in the shower. I just sit on the edge of the tub for a few minutes and move this slowly around all of the contours of my heel before moving along to anywhere else that my feet have dryness or callouses. It's incredibly satisfying to see the dust coming off my feet and also to see the rough texture and just general unattractive appearance of my feet change before my eyes. This thing is just. so. easy.
So would I recommend it for the price? YES. Honestly, it's a little spendy for a foot file, but the amount of time you'll save and the results that you'll get is completely worth the cost. You can also order replacement heads when the one that is included loses its efficacy, which means that you really could keep this baby around for years (hopefully!)
So yes, if you've got trouble feet and are looking for something to fix that lickety split - or you're just lazy like me and want to streamline your foot care routine, this is the product for you. And one more tip - if you're looking for a great cream to complement the results of this, I'd recommend picking up a bottle of Skin Food by Weleda, because nothing else hits my feet with repairing moisture better than that!
