HOLIDAY 2015: Non-Beauty Gift Guide

by - December 03, 2015

Even though this is a beauty blog and I am a complete and total beauty junkie, even I know that I can't just get everyone on my list beauty gifts, so I decided to go ahead and put together a list of some of my favorite non-beauty gifts - including a few things that I've gifted to people before and ones that I'll be gifting this year. I tried to split this into different categories for different types of people you might have in your life, but I think there's a lot of gifts here that could be great for a lot of different people. If anything, I hope that this might inspire you or give you some ideas for those people on your list that might be a little bit difficult to shop for.

Keep reading to take a look!

This set of exotic salts is a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. Six varieties are held in corked test tubes, showing off their unique variations even when not in use.
Isn't this an adorable little set? I feel like the urban foodie would love to have something like this one the counter to just look interesting when not in use, and add a little something different to recipes!

David's go to spice mixes: David's Chicken Rub, David's Special Steak Rub, David's Peri Peri.
I feel like this is a Dad kind of a gift - and I ALWAYS struggle to find things for my dad. Really, I think would be great for anyone who likes to grill and would like to try something a little different.

This perennially popular Oakland, California, eatery—with its entire menu devoted to mac and cheese—now shares its secrets for the best-ever mac recipes.
Who doesn't love Mac&Cheese? You know, other than vegans and people who just can't with cheese. Either way, this book is a no brainer for the cheese lover in your life - and we all have a lot of those, I think!

Our Perfect Tea Mug makes it easy to brew your favourite loose-leaf teas, at home, work or school. Its sleek porcelain profile is generously sized and features an integrated stainless steel infuser for perfectly brewed tea, every time.
This might still end up in my car for a Secret Santa gift, because the person on my list is a HUGE tea lover and I think she would find this both adorable and functional. Good thing she doesn't read my blog!

Want your Christmas tree to taste as good as it looks? These fun, festive ornaments ought to do the trick. Made of brightly coloured tin in four seasonal designs, they come pre-filled with our delicious holiday teas.
Of all of the tea gift sets, I had to choose this one specifically because of the ornament format. These are separable, so this would be great as gifts for coworkers or to split up and add to other gifts, but is also really great all together. My boyfriend actually picked this up the other night for his stepmom.

Take a break from your frantic pace and let slow brew make you a perfect cup of tea.
Okay, there are a LOT of these on the market, but as far as I'm concerned the sloth is the cutest of them all... He just looks so happy to hang out in your cup!

These glass-made vessels embrace that notion on every level, offering a stylish, eco-friendly alternative to disposable bottles and BPA-heavy plastics.
This is just a great water bottle, it really is, and I think that it would be a great gift for both people who are really into fitness or just people who are really. Or really, just people because we all need water, right?

Curl up to healing and relaxation after a long day. This dual purpose eye shade brings relief to tired, puffy, dry eyes and sinus pain.
This is a new eye shade from Saje that I haven't tried, but it's the same physical design as the one I have, which means it's the most comfortable and cozy eye shade ever. And this one has a removable clay pack that you can freeze or heat up for taking care of different issues happening in your head region. I suggest this for those who are stressed, tired, grown up, or just generally alive, really.

The Aqua Zinger water bottle works by subtly infusing water with flavors. From cucumber to lemon and lime, to blackberries, kiwi, strawberry, raspberry, peach, ginger, or even mint and basil - your Aqua Zinger can infuse them all. The Aqua Zinger has the unique ability to create all-natural beverage options that are light and refreshing.
I love infused waters, so I love the types of bottles that allow you to infuse water with fruit and take it on the go. Again, I think this is a gift that a lot of people would love, but especially those people in your life who really, really like Pinterest.

Frends’ handcrafted, jewelry-inspired designs give a whole new meaning to the words “ear candy.” These distinctive earbuds feature delicate metal detailing, and look more stylish than those ubiquitous white ones.
Let's just be honest - These are by far the prettiest ear buds of life. For the person who is into jewelry and music, this is basically the perfect gift. Like me, I think this might be the perfect gift for me. Just saying.

Improve air quality and create a healthy atmosphere with therapeutic essential oils.
So... the only thing on the Christmas list I gave my boyfriend is a Nebulizer from Saje. This one is by far my favorite design, but there are lots of choose from and they are beautiful to look at and also functional, for both aromatherapy and infusing some moisture into the air in your house. Twofer! (To my boyfriend... PRETTY PLEASE UNDER THE TREE!!!)

Perfect for kitchen counters, offices or any indoor growing, the AeroGarden 3 combines NASA-proven growing technology with our 1 bulb, 25 watt CFL grow light hood. The AeroGarden 3 sets up and plants in minutes and delivers big yields and fast, healthy plant growth. Use it to grow fresh herbs, salad greens, cherry tomatoes, flowers and more up to ten times faster than plants grown in soil
Who doesn't love fresh herbs? An Aerogarden (available in bigger sizes with more pods) is a perfect way to have fresh herbs, lettuce, and tomatoes on hand all year long. And this one, with its streamlined design, also looks really nice on the kitchen counter.

A perfect gift for film buffs and a terrific twist on movie nights, Gone with the Gin is the ultimate cocktail book for die-hard silver screen aficionados who prefer to be shaken, not stirred. Included within are 50 delicious drinks—paired with winking commentary on history’s most quotable films—plus an all-star lineup of drinking games, movie-themed munchies, and illustrations throughout.
Got a friend who loves to watch  movies and drink? I know I do! And I feel like this is the perfect gift for someone like that. Also, who doesn't love "winking commentary"?

Cards Against Humanity is a party game for horrible people. Unlike most of the party games you've played before, Cards Against Humanity is as despicable and awkward as you and your friends.
Ahhh Cards Against Humanity! As a fairly introverted person who doesn't like parties where I have to make an effort to socialize, this is the perfect remedy. A) It's hilarious in the most politically incorrect way, and B) It is completely uncomplicated and engaging for everyone.

Everything you need to know to assess, understand, and improve a hangover is here: dozens of comforting recipes, very clever graphic tests for analyzing your state of mind, and quizzes for tracking your progress.
What more can I say than the description already has? Comforting hangover recipes and hangover hacks? Perfect!

You can literally find adult colouring books EVERYWHERE right now. Yesterday alone, I saw them in no less than 5 different stores, and there's something for everyone. One of these books and a set of pencil crayons is a great gift for anyone who needs a little bit of unwinding. Anyway, here are some of my favorites...

Planets, galaxies, villains, heroes, the Doctor, the TARDIS and the time vortex - all intricately illustrated in this timey-wimey colouring book packed with original Doctor Who art.

Packed with stunning pieces of artwork from the Warner Bros. archive, this deluxe coloring book gives fans the chance to color in the vivid settings and beloved characters of J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world.

With Lost Ocean, Johanna Basford invites color-inners of all ages to discover an enchanting underwater world hidden in the depths of the sea.

I swear, I could have gone on for days with this gift guide, because there are just so many great things out there, but I figured this would be enough items to spark some ideas. There's so many great websites for online shopping these days so there's no problem finding something for literally everyone on your list.

I hope you guys enjoyed my holiday gift guide series and that I helped out at least a little!

Thanks for reading!
