WISHLIST: Spring 2016 Beauty Wishlist
So a few times a year, when all kinds of new products have been released and are out there for all kinds of drooling over, I tend to do a little fantasy shopping online. I suspect that we all (and by "we all", I mean all of us makeup junkies) do this from time to time, building a wishlist and and dreaming of all the makeup we want to have in our lives. Since it's officially spring now, I figured it's about time to do another wishlist of the products that I really want to have in my collection!
I added honorable mentions in here as well, and most of them are products that are a lot harder for us Canadians to get our hands on - What's up, Ulta? - as well as some things that aren't so much new as just... wanted. So without further adieu - Let us begin!
EYES:
As soon as I saw this, I wanted it, but the want was intensified when I saw swatches and heard about the formulation. The shades are beautiful and the pigmentation and texture looks absolutely gorgeous. I mean, really, what more could you want? Ultimately, I haven't picked this up yet because it's hard to justify the shade selection because of what I already have in my collection... but I suspect it'll happen soon.
So... Literally as I was putting together this post, this palette went live on Sephora and I ordered it. Like... without a moment of hesitation, which is a very strange thing for me to do but I did it. And I'm not sorry. I've heard that a few of the shades in here aren't the best as far as texture goes, but the shade selection is beautiful and it's actually unlike anything I already have in my collection - so it's about to be mine.
I love love love Kat Von D shadows, so as soon as I saw these quads announced I zeroed in on this one and I have to have it. I feel like this is a justifiable purchase because it's got a ride-or-die shade selection that I'll absolutely use consistently. Justification is always fun, right?
Honorable Mentions: Too Faced Peanut Buter & Jelly Palette, tarte Tartelette Tease Palette, LORAC Pro Matte Palette, LORAC Pro Metal Palette, NYX Ultimate Warm Neutrals Shadow Palette
LIPS:
The BITE Luminous Créme lipsticks were pretty much my favorite lipstick formula of life, so I was pretty sad to see them go, but I've heard such amazing things about the new Amuse Bouche formula so I'm looking forward to trying it out. I think Fig is one of those shades that pretty much anyone can get regular use of it, and that's what I tend to go for when it comes to high end lipsticks. I'm definitely a lot more shade adventurous with drugstore lippies.
Obviously there needs to be a liquid matte lipstick on here - and obviously it needs to be the new Too Faced Melted Matte lipstick, right? I mean... Yeah. It had to happen and this one is absolutely going to be in my collection as soon as I can get my hands on it. Gorgeous packaging, beautiful shade, and I've heard pretty good things about the formula, so... It has to be tried.
This is maybe a bit of a novelty, but I've heard really good things about it and matte finishes are my favorite so this could be a product that will get a lot of use for me. I'm looking forward to trying this out and seeing what I can do with some of my not-so-matte lippies to make them a little more to my taste.
Honorable Mentions: tarte Lippie Lingerie Matte Tint in Pure, Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipstick in Rebel Heart, Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria
FACE:
So... Funny story... I've wanted every single blush palette that tarte has put out, and I still don't own one. They're obviously one of tarte's big sellers and the holiday ones always seem to sell out before I can justify the purchase. So, I'm not really sure if I'll end up with this in my collection, but it's on the wishlist as ever.
As soon as I saw this, I wanted it. I've heard it compared to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and both of these powders look like they would play really beautifully with my skin tone, so clearly I have to have it. So far I've only seen it on QVC, but I'm hoping that we end up getting it at Sephora!
It's getting to be that bronzer time of year again and every time I look at this, I just want it in my life. I'm not sure about the specific shade, though I like the pink undertones of this one because I feel like it makes it look more natural on my skin, but I'd probably have to swatch. Still....the packaging alone just KILLS me.
Honorable Mentions: Laura Geller Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush in Rosewater, Lorac Color Source Buildable Blush in Spectra, Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam, Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Peach Glow, Fiona Stiles Bronzing Sun Veil in Ahiko, By Terry Hyaluronix Hydra-Powder
So there it is... all the things I would pick up if I had endless money for such things. I suspect that I will want to get a little bit crazy in the summer when I head down to the US and find myself perusing an Ulta, but top of my list will definitely be Laura Geller and Lorac. I'm still deciding what I want to pick up during next month's Sephora VIB sale - but I tend to try to be pretty conservative during the sale, so I don't think I'll pick up too much.
What's on your beauty wishlist? I'd love to hear about in the comments below.
