MAKEUP LOOK: Mauve & Matte for Fall
This is my favorite kind of fall look generally. I like to take warm
matte brown, mauve, and burgundy shades all over the lid and blended up
into the crease for a really soft, smoky look that isn't too deep. I
keep the cheeks warm and natural and add a bold berry or wine shade to
the lips to really pop the whole look. For this look I also skipped
liner, because I felt like it kept everything a little softer but still
impactful. The only part of this look that's not matte is a little bit of subtle highlight on the tops of the cheekbones and the cupids bow, nothing too intense but enough to bring a little light to the face.
To take a closer look and see what I used for this look!
For the eyes, I started with the essence Cosmetics I ❤ Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base. Next I moved on to the PÜR Cosmetics Soul Mattes Palette to do the rest of the look. I started with the shade Adore, which is a midtoned brown with a hint of mauve, and I applied this shade all over the lid with a flat shader brush. Next, I went in with Alter Ego, a deeper cranberry brown shade, and I blended that in the outer corner and through the crease for some depth using an e.l.f. Blending Brush. Finally, I used BFF, a warm camel shade along the outer edges of the look to blend everything out and bring a little more warmth overall to the look with a fluffy blending brush. I went back in with Adore along the lower lashline with a pencil brush to slightly smoke it out and add definition.
I used one coat of Doucce Bombastic Volumizing Mascara and one coat of L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extension Mascara to give my lashes length and volume. In my brows, I used the Annabelle Skinny Brow Pencil in Universal Dark and then used soap to set my brows. (If you want a post about using soap as a brow set, please let me know!)
For the face, I started with a base of a mixture Quo Age Excellence Foundation and the Maybelline FIT Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. I concealed my undereyes using the Maybelline FIT Me Concealer and finally set everything with the Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Glow Powder. This set of products has been a bit of a go to for my lately, so I've been reaching for them a lot.
To bronze, I used my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, focusing on the cheekbones and forehead to sculpt the face just a little bit. For my cheeks, I decided to keep it really warm and matte and I used theBalm Cosmetics Balm Desert Bronzer Blush lightly on the apples of my cheek and a little more heavily towards the backs of my cheekbones. I finished the look with a light dusting of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light from the Ambient Lighting Palette over the tops of my cheekbones and on my cupid's bow.
I finished the look with one coat of Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick in Tulle, which I find deepens and browns up quite a bit on the lips from what it looks like in the tube. I love this lipstick shade for fall and I felt like it was a perfect match for this look.

For me, this is a go to kind of look for fall. The softness of the eye look makes it wearable for day time, in my opinion, but it has some depth and a really prepped, matte look that I think is great as the weather gets cooler and the boots and sweaters start to come out.
