REVIEW: ACURE Organics Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil Coconut

by - January 17, 2017

GUYS! I need to tell you about my new skin savior. Winter and my skin really don't get along. I've gotten a routine going that works smashingly for the skin on my face, but my body has always been a bit of a problem. The thing is that no matter how much I like a body lotion and how well it works... I just hate putting on body lotion. Granted, I know I should just suck it up and get into the routine of lotioning myself up after I get out of the shower... but it's always so much easier to just not. Anyway, you may recall that I mentioned the ACURE Organics Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil* in my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide... but now that I've completely fallen in love with the product I feel like I need to get a little deeper and give you a full review.

So, we know that argan oil is basically good for every part of your body, but in the past I've really mostly used it either on my face or in my hair - particularly when my hair was damaged from having it lightened for most of 2016. As the weather has gotten colder, though, I've found that my favorite way to use it is on my body.Where I really like to use this is on my neck, shoulders and decolletage and this is definitely where I've seen the most impressive difference - which, honestly, isn't necessarily what I was expecting. I also like to use this on freshly shaved legs and on my feet. Everywhere I've used this, I've really noticed a deep hydration that really lasts between showers, with my skin both feeling softer and looking more even. The biggest difference I've seen is that it's helped to completely get rid of the bumps on the backs of my arms - which has been an issue for me for years.

The texture of this oil is just how I like it. It's not too thick or too thin, applying smoothly over the skin without having to really work at it and sinking in fairly quickly. I also really like that it comes with a pump rather than the droppers that I'm used to with argan oils I've used in the past. Generally, I like to give this about 30 minutes to really sink into my skin before I get into bed so that I don't have to worry about accidentally staining my sheets, but thus far that hasn't been a problem. The best time to apply this, for me, is after a shower where I've used a body scrub so that my skin is really prepped to soak up all the hydration that this has to offer.

Obviously we have to talk about the aromatherapy aspect of this. If you love the smell of coconut, you're absolutely going to love this. For me, this has a really rich coconut scent that doesn't feel synthetic or overly sweet. I can't  help but feel like this is going to be a go to for me in the summer, because obviously a coconut scent just screams beach. In fact, I'd probably be saving this for the warmer months if not for the fact that my winter skin is obsessed with it. Still, I have a feeling I'm going to end up repurchasing. This is also available in Citrus Ginger and Rose varieties and both are really lovely as well, but I'm always going to be a coconut girl.

Have I managed to get my obsession across yet? Honestly, you guys, this has been a game changer for me this winter and I get excited every time I'm about to use it on my skin. I've yet to use it on my hair, because I don't need as much help in the hydration and smoothing department as I once did, but I have no doubt that I'd love it there too. If you struggle with dry skin in the winter like I do, I really believe that you would absolutely love this argan oil!
