REVIEW: John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Products

by - February 16, 2017

Recently, with very much appreciation to Glamsense, I had the opportunity to try out some hair products that I'd never tried before - the John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Shampoo, Conditioner, & Leave In Cream Primer*. John Frieda has actually been a long time favorite of mine and I've often repurchased the Brilliant Brunette products from their line because they did a great job of making my hair look healthy and shiny. Interestingly enough, these products arrived a couple of days before I decided that I wanted to experience curly hair and got a perm, so I've used them both in my natural straight, fine hair and my newly curly (completely out of my comfort zone styling wise) hair.

Keep reading for my thoughts!

All of the products in the John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Collection contain their Frizz Immunity Complex, which helps to smooth hair, resist humidity for up to 72 hours, and maintain your style between washes when used as a system. Sounds good, right? For me, both when my hair is in its natural state - straight and fine - and now in its permed state, these are all pretty significant concerns of mine.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Shampoo*
Infused with a Frizz Immunity Complex & pure coconut oil, this shampoo gently cleanses & helps instantly smooth the hair. From the first use, it builds a powerful defence against humidity that lasts up to 72 hours*, helping prevent frizz from ruining your style.

The John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Shampoo has a light, almost professional salon scent to it and a texture that gives a nice lather and rinses clean from the hair without any residue. I find that it does a good job of removing product, dirt and oil from the hair and since I've been using it, I've actually felt like I can wash my hair less frequently. That's a huge plus for me, since I don't like to wash my hair too often.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Conditioner*
Infused with a Frizz Immunity Complex & pure coconut oil, this conditioner moisturizes & helps instantly smooth the hair. From the first use, it builds a powerful defence against humidity that lasts up to 72 hours*, helping prevent frizz from ruining your style.

The John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Conditioner, I must say, is really lovely. I've struggled with conditioners containing coconut oil being too heavy and leaving residue on my hair in the past, but this one rinses clean and leaves my hair soft and hydrated but not weighted down. I think that when used along with the shampoo, this gives me the exact results I want - a clean, soft head of hair that has a smooth, healthy appearance that lasts longer than other similar products. My favorite thing is definitely that it really rinses clean and leaves my hair feeling light and soft.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Leave In Cream Primer*
Create the perfect foundation for smooth, long-lasting, style. Formulated with Frizz Immunity Complex & pure coconut oil, this primer evens out & smoothes the hair's surface, blocks frizz & gradually builds a powerful defence against humidity that lasts up to 72 hours. Hair is instantly smooth and frizz free for longer.

The John Frieda Forever Smooth Leave In Primer has been a godsend for me since I've recently had a perm for the first time in my life and I've been working on keeping my new waves looking smooth and defined without frizziness. I work a small amount of this into my wet hair before I blow or air dry it and I find that it has really helped to keep everything looking sleek and smooth without adding a lot of extra weight to the hair. I also really enjoy the smell of this, because it reminds me of salon products - always a HUGE plus. This has definitely been a go to recently for me and I definitely recommend it.

Overall, I've been really impressed with these three products and I would definitely recommend them for someone like me who has moderate frizziness and wants to keep their hair looking smooth and sleek between washes. My favorite of the three products is definitely the Leave In Cream Primer*, which has really impressed me and helped me to deal with my newly curly hair!

Thanks for reading!
