REVIEW: Milani Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer

by - July 17, 2017

I have to admit, I have a thing for concealer. I feel like a million new foundations come out at the drugstore every year and I try a couple of them, but whenever a new concealer is released at the drugstore I absolutely have to try it. So, of course, when I heard good things about the Milani Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer it went directly onto the shopping list. Now that the Milani displays are getting a little bigger here in Canada, I was able to get my hands on it and I'm excited to review it for you guys!

First, let's go ahead and talk about the packaging because initially I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to feel about this tip. I actually think this is a great applicator for concealer. I don't find that product oozes out of it, but a light squeeze and you get just the right amount of product and you can tap it into wherever you like. I wouldn't personally say this works well to blend out the product because it's quite stiff and just kind of moves it around, but that's alright with me because I prefer to blend out with a brush anyway.

The claims on this concealer is that it will provide coverage for dark circles, blemishes and imperfections while providing a brightening effect to the skin without settling into lines or creasing. I'd have to agree with all of that. While a lot of brightening concealers don't provide a lot of coverage, I'd say that this one provides a solid medium coverage and does bring light to the face without being too stark or overly highlighted. I personally don't like a really bright undereye anymore, so I like that this looks natural but does provide some dimension.

My favorite thing about this concealer is the fact that it lives up to the claim that it doesn't crease. Now, I have found that if I try to bake this or add too much powder, it can look a little bit cakey, so I've actually been skipping setting powder all together and I much prefer the look like that.

I would definitely recommend this concealer to you if you're looking for a medium coverage with a naturally brightened look. For someone who wants full coverage, this might not be not intense enough for you, but for everyday looks I think this is great. I also think this could be a good option for people with a lot of fine lines around the eyes because, like I said, as long as I don't add too much powder I find this maintains a really smooth look throughout the day without creasing or caking up. Overall, I'm just really, really impressed with this concealer.

I found my Milani Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer at my local Rexall here in Canada, so if you're on the hunt for it I'd say that's a good place to start!
