BEAUTY FAVORITES: February & March 2019

by - April 02, 2019

Hey guys! For 2019, I really am trying to actually sit down and hash out my favorites, but I really don't think I'm going to do it every month because I feel like it becomes more about just choosing things I like rather than actually really hammering down on my favorites. That being said, I feel like every couple of months there will inevitably be products that I've really, really fallen in love with and I definitely want to share them with you guys.

So, without further ado, keep reading to see my February & March 2019 beauty favorites!

BIOTHERM Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift*
{ Review } Potted creams rather get me whipped up into a tizzy these days, but this one has blown pretty much everything else in my skin care routine out of the water in this past month. It has the most beautiful texture and applying it really is a beautiful experience, one that I generally really let myself luxuriate in each night when I apply it, but it's also really, really effective at giving my skin the most healthy, youthful look. I highly, highly recommend this cream to anyone who's looking for a beautiful luxury cream, but particularly those with more mature skin.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Full Coverage Foundation
{ Review } I'm so glad that a recommendation encouraged me to pick this up, because it's really, really amazing foundation and I've literally been wearing it every single day since I picked it up. The combination of high coverage and a long wearing matte finish isn't actually usually my thing, but I've really, really been enjoying the really perfected look that this gives my skin. And at like $7CAD, how can you resist a really solid formula like this one? Again, highly recommend if high coverage and a matte finish is your jam.

e.l.f. 16Hr Camo Concealer
{ Review } This formula is definitely... a little bit weird, but once I sort of figured that out I really, really started to enjoy it. The way it sets is a little bit strange and it can be a little bit difficult to find your shade, but there's really no denying how well this performs. It's got really good coverage and sets to a rather bulletproof finish without any cakiness or creasing. I have a feeling that this is going to become a real staple in my makeup collection and I'll probably use it for years to come.

Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighter in Bloom Time
{ Review } I literally never would have picked this up without the recommendation from a trusted Youtuber and I feel like I really would have been missing out. In the pan, the shade can be a little bit intimidating, but it gives the most beautiful highlight that somehow straddles looking natural with being really, really glowy. The WnW Megaglo highlighter formula is probably my favorite in the drugstore and I really do think that this shade just knocked it out of the park with its versatility and just plain loveliness.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Epic Lash Primer*
{ Review } Very, very sincerely, I don't think that this could have surprised me more than it did. I've never been a mascara primer kind of a girl, but this one is absolutely undeniable if you're looking to add really impressive length and volume to your lashes. I've literally been using this every single day since I got it and I love the fullness and length that it gives. I've paired it with really volumizing mascaras for a really intense, dramatic look, but I've also paired it with more natural mascaras for a really great every day look, and it just makes most of my mascaras perform even better. This is a spend and one I wouldn't normally make for this type of product, but it's seriously undeniable.

Jelly Belly + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Strawberry Shortcake
I was very, very tempted to pick up the entire Jelly Belly + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri collection because it's a formula that I seriously love, but there were a few glitter polishes in the collection that I absolutely knew that I had to have and this one is definitely my favorite. The base shade is just a perfect pink and the formula performs really, really well without me having to struggle too hard to get a good dispersion of the glitters and a smooth, leveled finish. I'm in love and I think a ton of people will really, really love this polish!

I mean.... the shade and the finish and the texture on this polish is just absolutely undeniable. I don't often love this type of formula, with the milky base and the glitters in it, but this one just seriously knocked it out of the park with me and I'm pretty sure I did this nail art look the first day I got this.

L'Oreal Stylista Smoothing Serum*
I pretty much shove my hair into a topknot every day these days, but I've been trying to wear it down a little bit more often so I've been reaching for this product on those days really consistently. I love that I can work this through the hair and use it as both a heat protectant and to keep everything looking smooth and sleek all day. Doesn't hurt that on top of that, I really love the scent of this product and how it keeps my hair smelling fresh and delightful all day.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Total Miracle Deep Conditioner
The original 3 Minute Miracle is one of those products that I remember using and loving years ago, but one that had kind of gotten lost in the shuffle over the years. I was perusing the hair care aisle recently (it had been a while) to see what was new and I saw this new one with a picture of an apricot on it and I was intrigued. I decided to try it out and I seriously fell right back in love. This does beautiful things to my hair, making it feel incredibly soft and silky and keeping it really manageable for days. I've actually already been almost through this bottle and I'm definitely going to be picking up another one very soon!

Mobile Game Recommendation...
I said that I was going to do some non-beauty favorites in 2019 and when I sat down to think of this month's recommendation I knew that I had to include the mobile game that I'm currently obsessed with. If you're a fan of side scrolling games, this is such a great one. I literally play this every chance I get - don't have to worry about lives refilling so much with this one - and I'm seriously hunting high scores. They're also really good with adding new events and new cookies to collect so that it doesn't get boring. If you haven't tried this - HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

So there you have it... two months worth of serious, serious favorite products, all of which get my stamp of approval and recommendation. I'd love to hear in the comments about what you've been loving lately - as you can tell by a couple of this month's favorites, I love recommendations for products to try out as well!

Thanks for reading!
