12 NAILS OF CHRISTMAS: Wintery Snowflake Nail Art

by - December 22, 2019

Honestly, I'm starting to think I should have just done 12 Days Of Snowflake Nails because I've really, really been drawn to including snowflakes in my nail art look for 12 Nails Of Christmas this year. For Day 3, I honestly kind of started from a jumping off point of the STUNNING base polish and went from there. Even though the polish is called Summer Rain, I feel like it's kind of a perfect base for a Christmas mani and I love the way it paired with white and green stamping.

Anyway, without further ado, keep reading for more!

I started with three coats of Cadillacquer's Summer Rain* to get a fully opaque and rich base on all of my nails. Because I was stamping over it, I probably could have gotten away with two coats, but the base polish has so much depth once it's built up and it dries pretty quickly, so three coats is all good with me.

For the stamping, I used Born Pretty Store White Stamping Polish and Dimension Nails Amazonian Manatee*, both of which have been getting a ton of use over these 12 days because they're just holiday perfection, along with the three stamping plates listed below to create and layer the looks. Sometimes it's best to use multiple stamping plates to create exactly the mani you want, so with this look I tried not to be constrained to just the one. For the ring finger, I actually used the same image for the whole nail, but used the two different polishes to get that contrast on the nail.

I finished with a generous coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat and voila!

Sometimes a really stunning indie polish speaks for itself and I feel like Cadillacquer's Summer Rain* is one that I'll personally wear on my nails a lot, but I think that pairing these wintery images with it in tones that really work with the base gives it a really festive and fun feel.
