NAIL ART: Teal & Gold Boho Chic Mani ft. Uberchic Beauty
As soon as I started seeing social media posts about the Uberchic Beauty Boho Chic Stamping Plate, I got full out grabby hands for it. There are so many stamping plates on my wishlist, but that one just jumped straight to the top and I basically had to have it. There's just something about it that falls right into my wheelhouse. For my first time using it, I decided to try out one of their layered design and... I love it but also the choices I made for polishes to use sort of makes this feel like a children's bedsheets design. Just me?

I'm having a bit of a moment right now with white or slightly off white crelly polishes with glitters in them. Honestly, this type of formula was never really my thing, but then I picked up Ice Ice Cave-y from Painted Polish in February's Polish Pickup and I'm definitely rethinking that stance. This polish is a white crelly with black, teal and gold glitters in it and it just applies beautifully and makes for a beautiful base for nail art. This was the first Painted Polish shade that I've tried and it definitely has me interested in picking up a lot more shades from the brand - I really hope they get another Canadian stockist at some point!
For the stamping, I knew I wanted to use these two layered images and I decided to just lean fully into the base polish and use a gold and a teal to really go for a cohesive look. A cool thing about the Uberchic stamping plates is that there are arrows that show you the order to apply the images in, so I started with the first image for this pair using the gold stamping polish, trying to center the larger row of Xs down the middle of my nail. Next, I went in with a teal stamping polish and the second image and did my best to place it where it was intended to go. Admittedly, there was a little bit of a learning curve, but by the third nail I applied it to I think I did pretty well.
Once I was happy with the stamping, I went in with a layer of water based top coat to seal in the design and then followed with a quick dry glossy top coat for shine and voila!

I very sincerely couldn't tell you why this mani makes me think of bedsheets - maybe me or one of my brothers had sheets like this as a kid? - but either way I still really like the look of it. Even though it's quite a busy design, I think pairing the white crelly base with stamping polishes that reference the colours of the glitters along with the smaller scale of the images in the stamping really just... somehow stays really delicate and cute. Love it and I can't wait to do a few more mani's using this stamping plate - definitely keep an eye out if you're interested!
